There are only a handful of guys on our team who consistently play with passion and always hustle and the sad part of it is that they are not even the most talented ones. Vanek for example, has shown that he could be the fastest guy on the ice with the nicest and smartest moves but he becomes lazy and inconstant and this happens with a lot of our players. The hardest working line is the Kaleta/Gaustad/Ellis line and they do their part but if our stars put in the work that those guys do then we would have a higher win percentage.
If a player cares more then odds are we will win more. I guess people think about it like a job at an office. If someone does something really well then maybe the boss will expect it all the time so its better not to strain yourself and in sports that doesn't really work. If you have that job and that fat contract then they know what you can do.
As for Kaleta fighting, I dont want him to turn into a Peters or Neil kind of guy (especially Peters) and I know that he isn't a coward, a guy who tries to lay out Pronger or Chara is not a coward but I think that is he learned how to fight then he can win some and maybe that can lift the team if they are not playing well.

Me too, this feel like the Sabres.com shit boards when people post this crap on here. If you people want to post crap like that on here don't, go and post on the sabres.com boards where we don't have to read it.

Did you not watch the examples I posted in this thread of Kaleta fighting. He knows how to fight, he just selects who he beats the shit out of.

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

See thats where forums become boring and tedious. When everyone thinks the same, every opinion is the same then the only use out of this board is picture threads and off topic conversations and stories in the lounge. When other opinions are rejected then there is no point in coming back.

He knows how to but how does selecting not to throw punches and have a close encounter fight which really motivates no one make a better decision, you are still putting yourself into the box for 5 minutes for basically nothing and the team doesnt feel anymore electrified. That situation helps nobody since Kaleta is usually one of the better and more energetic players we have on the ice. I just think that Kaleta has a lot more to offer.

I agree with Squanto that we're not trying to stop you from stating your opinion but our opinion is, your opinion is wrong. I'm trying to understand what you see that we are not. In this clip, tell me were Kaleta is NOT throwing punches and also tell me where this "close encounter" fight is?
Maybe his first season he didn't fight well but he has since stepped up and had some serious fights. Kaleta WILL FIGHT when he thinks thinks he needs too. Plus, he did draw a 2 minute minor during that Philly game which gave us 2 minutes of 4 on 4 instead of a full 5 minutes of being short-handed.

IMO in this case, Patty did good in not fighting. He didn't draw an extra 5 for fighting. Also, it would have pleased the Philthy fans if he dropped the mitts because no matter what the outcome of the fight might have been, their fans would have claimed a victory.
In the case of what has recently been known as "The Hit", if the NHL suspends Kaleta, they better be prepared for the first time Crosby or one of the other (un)usual suspects get out of line and hand them the SAME discipline as the grunts in the league. It makes me sick that the NHL is considering a further discipline on Patty, when Ovechkin has been taking runs at guys since he came into the league. Oh wait, I forgot. He is one of the few who draw the crowds, who’s' name sells the merchandise and is supposed to be a poster child for the NHL. ANYONE who dishes out hits like this, regardless as to how much money they make for themselves or the league should be given the same punishment as the next guy. If they didn't suspend the "Great 8", then Patty gets nothing as well. Put him on warning? Sure. Let him know the league is watching for the next time and will follow it up then. But make sure they blanket this treatment with the whole league and cut out this bias fucking bullshit.
Your opinions aren't being rejected. The thread is still open for business.
They're just plain wrong.
What's my issue with it? I'm sick and tired of Kaleta being called a pussy because he doesn't fight enough for some people.
Hmmm yet' when mike voices his opinion and tells others they are wrong, he gets banned for a week, NHL level double standards going on here

Just for the record, opinions CAN'T, by definition, be wrong. If some people would like to see Patty drop the gloves more often, then there is nothing wrong with that. Temper tantrums against that opinion are WRONG.

Mike spent weeks and weeks personally going after anyone who disagreed with him. He was asked to tone it down because people were complaining about it, and HE ASKED THAT HIS ACCOUNT BE DELETED INSTEAD.
He got a week to cool his jets, and he did.
Get your fucking facts in order before you start making accusations like this.
