T.J. Lanning (USA) ((up to now he has suffered some crashes.))

For many this course is very easy, but ... a small mistake and bad luck

I have seen 1000 races , i know it s a very dangerous sport......... but this was very ugly.
I hope he won't loose his leg like the Austrian Lanzinger last year.

Uhhhh I don't think knees are supposed to bend that way, or that way, or that way. No, sir.

I hope it's salvageable.

Sweet jesus. He's lucky he's still alive. Hopefully he'll be ok.

TJ Lanning was airlifted off the Whitehorn Mountain course Saturday after falling heavily in the first downhill of the men's alpine World Cup season.

The 25-year-old American lost control in the steep Fallaway section about halfway down the course and crashed.

He caught his right leg on the gate and then somersaulted down the course. Officials said he suffered ligament damage to his right knee.

He was taken by a rescue helicopter to the medical clinic at the base of the mountain, then transported to hospital in nearby Banff.

Lanning, who started from the 24th spot on Saturday, finished ninth in the Lake Louise downhill last year.

This weekend's races in the Canadian Rockies marks the first speed events of the World Cup alpine season with a Super-G race set for Sunday.

I shouldn't have watched that. It made me sick to my stomach.

One thing I don't like to watch is accident videos where limbs bend in ways they aren't supposed to.

Ouchouchouchouchouchouch.
