The whole incident is going to give me nightmares. I'm still having them after watching Zednik last year. My God, those Panthers have had to endure quite a bit as of late.

I feel bad for him too. It was an accident and he must feel like complete shit,but come on... he even took another whack at the post before skating off. I'm sorry, but if you accidently hurt someone by swinging your stick... your next action should probably be NOT swinging your stick again.

I don't know about you guys, but I've had at least a half dozen times in my life that I've been so mad and frustrated I've thrown or slammed something. One time in particular was when I was a teenager and my hair wasn't going right and I whipped my brush at the mirror. Obviously, I didn't mean to break the mirror, I was just pissed and frustrated and not thinking and as my brush was on its way to the mirror, I was like, "OH, CRAP!!" It all happens in slow motion and before the action is even finished, you already feel like a douchebag. Kind of like Ted Knight in Caddyshack when he threw his golf club.

Anyhow...I can really feel for Ballard. It was a douchebag move, for sure, but he has to be feeling horrendous right now. Vokoun will be fine, but I bet Ballard will feel like hell for a long time!

I'm guessing the NHL won't hand down any suspensions, but who knows how the Panthers will handle this internally. My guess is again, nothing. But maybe sit him out a game or something to let him clear his head and/or make an example of him (control your tempers!).
