Wow... way to go.

Awkward moment for Niedermayer though, definately. Just sort of watching a fight break out because of his stick...

Really??? Nieds is an asshole for trying to do something nice for a young fan?

Really fucking ignorant position to take.

yeah, poor showing Slesh

The Stick could have been brought down by security and handed to the girl. If you would have quoted the entire post you would have seen I said nice gesture. I've been to a few games myself and have seen people tear each other for baseballs, footballs, soccer balls.....etc........etc.
The best way to do it, let security give them the item. It will get to who it has too.

I have watched Anaheim games before and the three stars that are Ducks players alaways do this, it has never been a problem until this.

Can't believe it let the girl have this stuck. Well the Ducks"fans" are even a bigger joke than the team they're cheering for.

How someone can blame Niedermeyer for that is beyond me. It was a classy human act destroyed by some stupid bastards.

What HP said. If they knew who Mike V was - shit, his job title should be Bad Ass Motherfucker - there wouldn't have been any ruckus in the first place. At all.

Kudos to Mike V., I say.

I'm a little late seeing this vid (work related purposes) But good lord man.. Even at a Jr. A game, a puck has come over the glass which I've caught before, and gave it to a kid sitting near me. Even as recent as last season, went to see St. FX play (Canadian University hockey), a puck came over the glass litterally right into my lap. I gave it to a small kid who was sittin one row infront of me. Granted, these are not NHL players, but to see the look on these kids faces was awesome. How the fuck can someone take that away from a little kid? I hope to fuck that guy got the beating of his life, maybe a black eye from the whole thing. Who the hell in their right mind would take that away from a child? If I were neids, I woulda went into the crowd and gave it to her. Obviously it wasn't a game used stick, but I woulda requested the kid and her folks come back to the ducks locker room and give her a game used stick. Eat that you fruit..

More proof there are more douchebags attending games than we wanna give credit for.

Mother fucker....

Well, that someone was me. Look, as I have said, it was a nice gesture. I don't blame Nieds for being nice. I expect him (just like the moron in the stands) to take accountability of themselves.
We don't live in the world I or many of us that are older grew up in anymore. The days of civility are gone, ya really need to just admit it and move beyond it.
If its any constellation to ya, I'll call the fan who pulled the appalling act of assholiness an asshole.
But as I stated, I've been to games of this sport and others where security brought an item to a fan. Ya know what, no problem. The kids didn't get to see an asshole fan and the fan that received the item wasn't harrased.

Lets be honest here, that happens in all sports.

Fans go after stuff thrown into the stands and people brawl over it, especially a stick.

Nice jesture, don't get me wrong, but this is an areana (sports in general) where grown adults can and sometimes do act like 5 year olds.

Okay, usually when you give a mother licking stick to a little girl you don't expect adults to try and take it and fight. THEY ARE ADULTS NOT GANG BANGERS. Niedermayer thought that they would behave correctly around the girl. And hey, I didn't see that coming anyhow. He even tried doing something about it, but a huge glass wall stands in the way...
