I suppose I could focus legislative anger towards Pelosi and Reid, but I feel bad picking on them...it's like teasing a child that doesn't even realize it :)

It's a long dead horse but beating it is still fun around here. ;) The country is insane anyway, I'm just gonna try and survive it.

The far left sure does get in a tither at the slightest bit of criticism, even when it's presented in a rather lighthearted manner. I must say, it's not very becoming.

Look people. Ive said it before, it goes both ways... If McCain was President, and Squanto didnt agree with anything he was doing and started posting threads, ETC or Crosscheck would get mad cuz your taking a shot at him, It goes both ways people. The way I see it, Obama is president, I dont agree with everything he has done, Do i think the children singing is rediculous... oh hell yes i do... Do we Republicans and Conservatives and People who didnt vote for Obama have to deal with him for the next 3 years till his term is up and hopefully a new president comes along? Yes we do... Like Van_Da_Man said, its like beating a dead horse, yes sure we like to post our views and vent on these boards... sure... but lets not get angry when other people post things they want to. Hello, Freedom of speech, we all have it, so lets just deal with it, if you dont like what someone else says, feel free to express your opinion, but lets not resort to personal attacks.

Not really. I don't have any problem with legitimate criticism. I have a problem with infantile repetition of meaningless partisan attacks for the sake of a giggle.

And ETC, you should know by now I'm anything by far left.

Geez, if you look at my post there's nothing less than a gigantic hug for how so many of our schools are doing their part to help make sure this generation of children believes in Barack Obama. If anyone should be criticizing me it's the far right!

Okay, time for us to sit back, share a warm embrace, and appreciate another video of our children being tenderly guided by loving teachers to sing in praise for President Barack Obama!

:romance-smileyheart:

The basic thing is, if your paycheck comes from the government, you'll back the Democrat president because he'll back government spending to infinity.

The problem I have today with Obama is: Seriously? Interrupting CHARLIE BROWN? Coudn't it have waited till after the kids went to bed? Gawd! The arrogance of this man astounds me!!!

I completely agree with ETC on this.

Indoctrination of our children, plain and simple. It reminds me of the "HITLER YOUTH" movement in Nazi Germany. Its disgusting and parents should be highly upset about this and speak out.

I would go so far as to say that its morally illegal. Lessons were taught about the dangers of allowing such behavior to fester. I don't like this President anymore than the next guy.

What did he say in his campaign again? Oh ya, that line he kept on using........"Yes We Can"!
Well I have a news flash for President Obama, "You Can't If Your Broke"!

I agree, Slesh. Whether its a Republican president or Democrat, its wrong. But where do you draw the line between history and present? My daughter learned a song in elementary school about Abe Lincoln, which was cool...but if the Obama's OR THE BUSH'S had her learning songs in school while in office, I would have been pissed.

as a side note, every presidential election, they school always has a vote. The last three votes since I've had my kids in school, the republican president wins in a landslide and the teachers are all peeved. I love it.

These videos are of individuals doing this. Individuals made the choice to have their students learn and sign these songs. As I've said repeatedly, I agree that I don't think teachers should impress their political opinions on kids of this age. At the college level, I think students can handle political discussion with a professor just fine.

This is NOTHING like the Hitler Youth. The HJ was sponsored and run by the Nazi Party, and by extension, the German State after the Nazi's came to power. Membership in the HJ was mandatory for all German boys over the age of 10.

These INDIVIDUAL teachers are not pushing a state sanctioned message. They're taking their own personal beliefs and feelings about Obama, and inappropriately doing something with their kids they think is 'cute'.

All unions are too powerful.

Until you can prove unequivocally that specific teacher's unions are dictating to their members that they make their students sing songs praising Obama, you have not rebutted the point.

My girlfriend and many friends are members of NYSUT. It isn't happening in this state.

A delightful, moving, and upbeat presentation praising our leader, President Obama, from students at the The Albany Institute - yes, an NYSUT subsidized institution! These kids can really busta move.

Again, I will make the point since you don't want address is directly.

NYSUT is NOT directing their members to do this. They are not SUGGESTING that their members do it.

Just because individuals are choosing to do such things DOES NOT MEAN that NYSUT is organizing it.

It still has zero comparison to the Hitler Youth.

I don't think for a moment schools are being threatened by the government to teach their students to love, admire and revere President Obama. In fact, I think it's inspiring that so many unionized teachers and school officials in state funded institutions are now liberated to openly train the children to sing and perform tributes of praise to our nation's leader! After all, getting them to believe when they are young is critical.

Ya beat me to it ETC. It is state sponsored through the Unions. Do a history fact check, the Unions have supported the Democratic party since their inception. In return for that support the party (when it was able to) would "spread the wealth" for that support to the unions.

No sir Squanto, I submit to you this is state sanctioned, let's not muddle this with gray area here, as someone else clearly stated in another thread, let's call a spade a spade.

Do you have children Squanto? I have 2 boys aged 17 and 15 and if for 1 moment I had any inclenation of this shit going on I would sue the school system for infringement on the my childs rights as protected under the 1st amendment.

And you don't think this compares to the Hitler Youth, you are dead wrong and I mean DEAD WRONG!
Seen the same thing with the kids in Afghanistan and Iraq. It is absolutely no different than the Hitler Youth, you are INDOCTRINATING the children to slant towards a point of view.

I hate all of this bickering over semantics. Let's stop arguing and remember there is always hope for change. Sit back and enjoy this moving, passionate rendition of the The Barack Obama Elementary School's official song. Keep the tissues handy!
