http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/sabre ... 79796.htmlA few seasons ago I posted a few times, or talked to my friends about how the team needed to be built around Miller. He needed to be the focal point around how the team played. I hoped for a time when they played with a defense first approach and supported him to the point that he didn't have to make saves standing on his head several times a night.
That last two seasons we saw the same scenario over and over...the save-save-goal routine that brought Miller's stats down and showed how pathetic our team defense was. I always thought, with many others, with just an average amount of d-support Miller would shine and finally get the stats and credit for being a top five/top three goalie. Now he's looking like the #1 goalie in the world. I'm not sure that's really the case, but it certainly shows that the coaching staff and the team have finally accepted a style that gives them the best chance to win.
Miller is clearly their best player, and it makes sense to play a style that allows your best player to play his best. It's Miller's team, and with a little scoring help from up front (not that I'm counting on it) we could see a 3rd round playoff series.
