Didn't you see on Fox news how they found that cashed government check in that teachers bank account.

On a more serious note, these children will grow up, and will form their own opinions anyways. Does anyone on these boards still believe in santa claus or the boogie man anymore????? If you think that love for Obama can be so deeply seeded that they will not question his authenticity later, then you are probably fear mongering. Fear, fear, fear....

Maybe, maybe not.
Get em while they're young and most impressionable. Ask any religion.

Ya, you're right. While I opted out of my organized religion, so many DIDN'T. I guess the majority of those kids who lack critical thinking skills will tow the line. With independent thought gradually disintegrating(and group-think growing), it's quite possible they'll end up "like" Hitler youth(notice I said like).

This is ridiculous. The same shit happens at every turnover of a new president.

Elementary school children are taught to support their president and honor his authority, no matter WHO is in office.

If you want to criticize the guy for his policies, fine. But don't point fingers at liberal teachers for preaching in Obama's favor. By the time these kids are old enough to vote, he'll have served his maximum term anyways.

Even suggesting the idea that there is a government conspiracy to brainwash children into Obama supporters is ludicrous.

Bill Clinton couldn't even keep his affair quiet. How is something like this supposed to stay hush hush? For crying out loud...

Which is wrong constitutionally speaking

Which also means this is wrong, too.

Now this is probably correct. As I posted back a bit, it's fear mongering at it's best.

Why not?
They work for the tax payers...they're not there to promote a political party or ideology.

Because it's not happening on a bias.

Elementary school kids are always schooled big time on their presidents. Nobody seemed to bitch about it when Bush was in office.

Students yes when they are older and know better... but in this case its younger elementary school kids... like they would know to switch... honestly what 4th grader thinks, "singing about Obama is wrong time to switch teachers" ?

OMG! You're totally right! THEY ARE INDOCTRINATING OUR CHILDREN TO LOVE OBAMA!

I see the plan, in 8 or 10 years when these kids will be able to vote they'll be so brainwashed they'll just vote for obama without even considering the other guy! You know...SINCE PRESIDENTS CAN HAVE AS MANY TERMS AS THEY WANT! ZOMG! I better put on my moomoo, grab my gallon of ice cream and kick the kids outta the trailers family room so's i can hear who fox news wants me to yell at about this.

Sure, give em all the old hokey stories about George Washington, Lincoln etc.
I never sang praises to Carter, Reagan or Clinton...did you?

I'd really be with you on the sarcasm if the political brainwashing stopped in elementary school...or Jr. High...or High school...or College...or graduate school...but it doesn't.

I had a pretty even mix of conservative and liberal history teachers in high school.
9th-Conservative
10th-Conservative
11th-Liberal
12th economics - Liberal
12th Participation in government - Conservative.

None of them did anything resembling brainwashing. In fact, my 10th and 12th grade conservative teachers were hesitant to even give their political leanings.

If you went to school in WNY I'd call you the exception to the rule...I went to school in a very conservative place (Lewiston)...but I still had only one "openly" conservative teacher (participation in government Jr. year).

I went to NW.. was a pretty even mix from what I remember.

Lewiston is a mess right now XC. Even more rampant political name calling than usual!

I want to see videos of public schools indoctrinating children to sing adoration to George W. Bush, because I've hunted for them and have come up completely empty. Seriously, I want to see them, not for political reasons but because I think it would make this discussion more viable and interesting. As it stands, it's so one sided right now that this conversation lacks the normal give-and-take most political threads provide.

Please, somebody, anybody, give me a public school sample of Bush worshiping video to enjoy, because lame stories of some history teacher you may have once had that voted Republican is simply worthless. I suspect nothing will show up, of course, but in the meantime, let me provide some heartwarming entertainment of small children being trained to love and adore President Obama! :)

Yes we can!

I learned at a young age to avoid Lewiston politics. When I was 18 and started doing fire hall stuff, I got exposed to the ugly side. I was doing stuff with Sanborn, which is located in Lewiston, but also covers some areas of Cambria. Population wise, it's about a 90/10 split with more people living in the Lewiston area, but land wise, it's about 70/30 towards Cambria.

Some of the justifications that I heard town board members use to try and deny us funding were downright disgusting. One of them even suggested that we come up with a way to make sure that the money they gave us was only used for Lewiston residents!!

It didn't matter at the end of the day since we got most of our revenues from bingo, but it was still pretty sickening to hear what went on.
