It was announced yesterday that in a $60 Mil. project, hockey will once again be played at Maple Leaf gardens. In a deal cut with Ryerson University and Loblaws Grocery Stores inc. the gardens will be brought back to life, and hockey will be played on it's ice again.
Now, don't get me wrong. I hate everything and anything that has to deal with the Maple Leafs. But the fact that is the last of the original 6 buildings left standing and in somewhat operational status, this is huge among us who love any tid bit of hockey history. I'm glad I got a chance to witness a game in this old barn and was also there for the first night of the Battle of the Blades back in Oct. This building is hockey.
