Well, when you look at it in terms of politics, as many do (when we should be looking at it as "what's best for our nation), then you could say that West Point cadets probably do not side with Obama on many political issues. In that regard, it would be the enemy camp politically, not militarily. Stupid statement by Matthews, though.

But still, they need to just go in there guns blazing and grind the Taliban into dust.

Ya, it's pretty easy to see that was the point he was making.

Maybe those cadets wish President retard would have been able to serve a 3rd term so we could mission accomplish this quagmire too. Perhaps another crusade. Maybe they just aren't as trusting as they used to be after being sent in to battle by lies the last time.

Uh...he was trying to make a shitty point and he executed it poorly.

And BTW, those cadets were most likely instructed to STFU while the President was speaking...the applause lines near the end of the speech were initiated by civilians. You could see that on TV. The cadets that lined up to shake his hand after the speech looked very excited.

Meh, people love to hang on every word nowadays looking for a slip-up. I'll admit to doing it myself even. Enemy camp is no worse than crusade(keep in mind one guy is a reporter, the other was the President). Anyways, this is too minuscule to debate.

I agree with daz to a large extent. If Sean Hannity said the same thing about a speech George W. gave to say the ACLU, or in my crazy leftist town of Portland, I doubt it would cause much of a stir.

But also I agree that in labeling West Point like this, Matthews crossed the line of decency. Obviously he means that the military is traditional a Republican haven, but the choice of words was certainly unfortunate to say the least.

Well at least we can all agree Chris Mathews is an asshat, right?
