I remember how bad Soupy was at one point, and then he got much better, and then he got overpaid, and doesn't seem so great anymore. Sekera is still a diamond or briquette in the rough, and my jury is still out!

I do tend to hate comparing early in there career players to established veterans, because as time goes by, the subtle/not so subtle changes in the game make the comparison irrelevant.

It does give people something to talk about though

When Sekera first came up I was really psyched about it, he seemed like a budding young offensive D-man who would be very valuable in the near future. But..at some point last year his confidence seemed to vanish, he lost his swagger and poise and seemed to always be chasing the puck, being caught in bad positions, just not being effective.
I'd guess his extended injury this season was part physical part mental. Unfortunate, the guy seems fragile, I hope ruff is the right coach to help him, it sure didnt work with kalinin.
