Sorry, but the Portland experiment (0-1-1) pretty much makes that point moot. BOTH teams don't show up in front of Lalime... what a coincidence...

Well, although I would say that 2 games is hardly a test, i can't help but agree with your point. But, then again, I liked your point last week a little better:

Maybe Patty should play the front end of a back to back and let Miller be in net when the team is tired.

Last year Telqvuist some how won for us and got better stats than Lalime. It's not just Miller being Mr. Superstar, it's Lalime not getting it done for whatever above reason works for you.

A point also well taken.

You're getting raped in this thread, but you remain diplomatic.

The new guy's alright!

Welcome to the forums. :D

EDIT: Just noticed you actually joined in October... So welcome back, not-so-new-guy!

That new guy knows what he is talking about.

He's right and wrong with Lalime basically. He never had a terrible Sv% for a backup, but what we obviously want are wins.

We could have the worst goalie in the league but if he pulls out a win somehow that is fine for me. LaLime was never a guy who could keep this team in a game really, and the team knew it so they played scared with him in net.

All I ask is we get a backup who the team plays well in front of.

Yeowch! I didn't know I was doing THAT bad! I do a lot of lurking.

There's always room for different points of view and opinions. What a boring world this would be if we all agreed with one another.

We need Marty. If we bring him back, he could bring a confidence boost and be the locker room jokester again! And we can have a decent backup so Miller could get some rest.

We can only hope. If there's one thing I hate it's group-think. It tends to keep everyone stupid.

As Sky said, this is a bit of a conundrum. He makes his share of saves, but just can't get the W. Hard to put your finger on the cause.

Haha I didn't mean you weren't arguing well. I was just pointing out at the vast number of people that disagree with you, due to the ever common theme of Lalime hating here. :D

And I agree with you that multiple opinions matter. If everyone agreed about everything, there'd be no purpose for a message board.

Tellqvist only played like 5 games with us... I don't know if you can really gauge how good or bad he would have been for us down the stretch based on such a short amount of games that he played for us.

Telqvist played 21 games on the season, Lalime 24.

EDIT: He only played six with the Sabres, but had incredible numbers.

Yeah, I'm not saying that Tellqvist didn't do his job during his short stint with us, because he did... I'm just saying that he was only with us for a short amount of time, so it's hard to say how consistent he really would have been for us if he was still our backup.

Although I know most options seem more viable than Lalime at the moment...

If Telly was a viable solution, he wouldn't be in Russia.

At this point, playing with 6 skaters and a pulled goalie is more viable than Lalime.

Maybe they can ask the NHL to turn the nets around and only count goals that bank in off the backboards for a game.

So, how do you think Patty's gonna fair against OV and the Caps?

ETC sets the Over/Under at 5 GA.

You have to set it at 4.5 or 5.5. Regardless, I'm taking the over.

If Lalime starts against Washington the I expect the caps to win 9-4 and all 9 goals will come in the first, so yeah over.
