Agreed, he did, the little shit stain.

But Gerbe could come up and tear it up for all we know. Maybe him and Kennedy find some kind of freaky weird chemistry connection and go on a "Rookie's Rising" mission.

Might be a great chance to try out that trick I spoke of in another post. Have Gerbe Jump out of Myers sock while he's on the rush and put one in.

I think it'd be even funnier to have him ride in a backpack, like Chewy had for Threepio when he was broked

Ennis has more points than Gerbe right now, but I think Gerbe has a better PPG average than him.

Ennis is actually, if nothing has changed, the leading rookie scorer.

He should be, just outside of the top 20 in the AHL right now.

Yea 21st in scoring and 22 points in 28 games.

Gerbe has 20 points in 23 games.

He was 9th in league scoring last week - there's a log jam of folks with 23 right now haha

I personally root for Ennis over Gerbe.

I'd like to see what Gerbes has, instead of basically making him wait until next year for him to get his chance again.

Ditto.

He hasn't been given a shot since not making the team out of camp.

It'll be interesting to see him go to work, should he be called up.

Well, even though I'm a bigger fan of Ennis', Gerbe has shown some more maturity and fire lately. I'd like to see him at the big level again for a few games.

Was Gerbe injured when Ennis was called up? Could be the only reason Ennis got the call in the first place. All I can say is whoever the coaching staff is playing a better overall game right now is the one that should be brought up. I got excited when I saw Ennis play as well but If Gerbe is showing up to the rink everyday working hard and playing harder than he we owe it to him to give him a shot. Especially with the way some of our top 6 forwards have been playing.

Not sure if it's a factor or not, but maybe they have to keep an eye on how many games each can play in the NHL. You don't want to play one too much and not be able to send him back. I don't think it's a factor at this point, but they may be looking long term. Keep the number of games even so you have options of who to bring up when needed. Also, when you bring different players up, it should make the others play harder to try to get the call next time. Lastly, Gerbe was injured last time Ennis was called up.

Some fresh blood in the line up will be a good thing. Not only for his experience, but also to make others a little more aware of what it takes to work. Gerbe getting the nod is going to make him play that much harder. In turn, this SHOULD light the fire under some of the boys.

Not sure if the number of games played comes into effect for younguns we call up as they're on 2 way contracts. Some of it depends on if management wants to fill a roster spot with him, if he's good enough for that role. If he were in junior, then he would have been in the same boat as Myers where we had a limited number of games on a "Try out" basis, as Myers was too young to play in the "A" so he would have to be re-assigned to Jr. Keep in mind, at any point they can still send him down, but his pro contract has kicked into play so financially it would be pretty stupid to do such a thing. Never mind the fact that his play has been nothing short of awesome so far this season.

I may be wrong, wouldn't be the first time. Anyone have the 411 on AHL'ers being called up and know the ins and outs of those call ups?

Anyway, hope he has a great game!!!

I know they can go up and down, but I'm not positive the # of games before they would have to clear waivers. I am sure neither Gerbe or Ennis are even close, but they games eventually add up. With Goose ad Griere out (not sure the status for today) why not bring Kassian up if they can?

Haven't seen anything official on this, yet. Anyone got confirmation?

Thanks! I like it. Hopefully it makes the useless "Top Six" feel a bit more expendable.
