Cool, lets see what he can do this season on the call up.

Wonder what the line combo will be...

My wild-ass guess:

Vanek-Connolly-Mair
Hecht-Roy-Pominville
Gerbe-Kennedy-Stafford
MacArthur-Ellis-Kaleta

His last few starts were less than I had hoped for...I guess we'll see what some extra time with the Pirates has yielded.

Indeed. I hope that by not making the team out of camp he'll step it up this time up.

I just hope he plays good two-way hockey, is smart with the puck, and doesn't try to show how fancy he can be on offense.

In short, I do NOT want him getting a case of Royitus. I think putting him with Kennedy and Kaleta would be a much better NHL influence than having him get all prettied up with our Top Six primadonnas.

Me too ETC. I want him to contribute, but I want him to KISS. No screw ups and "smart with the puck" is what I am looking for too.

If Myers feeds Gerbe for a goal, it would be a funny time for play by play announcers.

Roy can actually pull it off 90% of the time. Your thinking of Connolly.

Roy gets a bad rap for his defensive play.

On the contrary, I've seen him break up a lot of plays in the defensive zone and on the backcheck.

Roy does get a bad rap. He's actually really good defensively.

So glad Gerbe is back. I would love him on a line with Kennedy.

Royitus is defined as being undersized, whiny, and trying to be too fancy with the puck instead of shooting it or dumping it in. Not upset with his defense at all.

You make him sound like a bad player, which he isn't at all. His fanciness with the puck is a good thing, because he is one of the few people who can bring the puck far in the zone. Roy may be undersized, but he is still good.

He whines like a bitch though.

Gerbs! It'll be fun to see.

There are many advantages to being height challenged . . . I know . . . usually among them are quickness, sneakiness, and the element of surprise due to low expectations for you - as well as kookiness, recklessness, and courage gained from learning to hang with the big boys.

I hate to admit, but glad someone pointed out Roy's good defensive play; however, I could do without the fancy/pretty. I don't care about ESPN highlights, just goals and wins.

In the larger scheme of this season I don't see Gerbe as a factor. Could be wrong, depends on how he plays though. Nothing against him, and I hope he tears it up out there tonight, my eye is on Ennis though, that kid looked real good against Philly. Maybe they both get the nod full time next season, who knows.

he had better hope to perform especially cause i would think he knows ennis scored the first time he was up and played a good game. I would hope Gerbe can respond as he is probably hoping he doesn't get jumped in the call up, or to roster spot considerations. a little friendly competition. here's hoping ovechkin doesn't try to knee gerbe might hit him in the face instead of the knee.

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

The main thing that can affect waivers in "seasons accrued". You don't want your player to accrue seasons, because it may shorten his time that he is exempt. It takes 30 games played to be considered to be an accrued season, so right now both guys look pretty safe in that manner. I hope that makes sense.
