If you go to iTunes and search for the "iTunes Holiday Sampler," you can download 20 Christmas songs for free that are done by various artists.

Pretty sweet! Especially since it's free! :)

Thanks for the heads up...I LOVE Christmas music! So much that I find myself getting in the mood to listen to it even in the summer months. 8-)

Thanks, Beth.

I'll check it out - As for Xmas music....... *shudder*

I had an owner, at a restaurant (in which I ran the kitchen) play the same CD of Elvis Xmas music, from August 'til March - Every day; all day.

I finally tore it out of the player, walked out on the stoop, on a freezing day, and "frisbee'd" the fucking thing out into traffic.

He was shocked - So I looked him in the eye, slapped 10 bucks on the bar and walked back into the kitchen.

I have to avoid going to any malls or "bigbox" stores at this time of year because once I hear X-mas music more than say, 3 times, my temper starts to flare up and I take it out on the entire world.

I'm siding with Ice on this one. If I never hear another X-mas song again, I think I'll be alright with that.

Awww, hell. Stu. I worked at Home Depot for three years...

From "Black Friday" until the end of the first week in January (Eastern Orthodox Xmas) they played Xmas music...24/7!

It invaded your sleep...you hummed it when you were eating, when you were showering, when you were taking a piss! It JUST DIDN'T GO AWAY!

Goddamn nightmare. And the same bunch of songs were replayed, every two to three hours. Made you want to jab pencils in your ears.

Pure suicidal misery.

You can say that about most any radio format... BUT, the X-mas music just takes all that repetition to another level.

I remember my days at Pano's, you'd ALWAYS hear the same songs every 2-3 hours no matter the channel on DMX. But again, for some reason I could handle the oldies station (though I'm certainly not in love with Sweet Pea-type songs), while this time of year the X-mas music would drive me up the wall.

Isn't it great how we hate the same things?

I could listen to oldies all day long, every single day of the week.

Xmas songs? NEVER. 102.5's programming manager can choke on a dick for this 24/7 Xmas music format.

OMG! There's ONLY TWO TIMES I ever listen to the radio. And I really mean only two times.

1. If I'm driving during the Sabres pre-game/game.
2. Christmastime, then I'll listen to Star 102.5

Other than that, I never ever listen to the radio. I just plug in my iPod and listen to that. I've attempted to listen to the radio if my iPod dies on me while I'm driving, and it's just a crock of shit. I hate the radio. It's all Nickelback or MTV hits. There used to be this radio station that would play Indian Bollywood music that was fun...but the last time I listened to it they were playing Spanish music.

But I digress... I LOVE CHRISTMAS MUSIC. 8-)

I listen to the radio whenever I'm driving. Between 104.1, Q107, 97 Rock, and 107.7 The Lake, I can almost always find something good on.

I can take 24/7 Christmas music for a week or so right before Christmas, but before that I can't do it. Mix in the Christmas songs with other songs and I'm happy.

I didn't mind Christmas music being played the week of Christmas over the years;

I liked it, found it soothing.

Christmas music being played 24/7, and weeks before Christmas on that pissant station 102.5 and others;

Fucking hate it!
Fucking hate it!!
Fucking hate it!!!
Fucking hate it!!!!
Fucking hate it!!!!!

Um, guess I'm trying to say I'm not fond of it........

Thanks Beth!
I'll check it out. I'm hoping they have some Manheim Steamroller in there.
My absolute favorite is God Bless Ye Merry Gentlemen sung by the Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachan ;)

Speaking of iPod's, does anyone use the attachment (in their car) that plays their iPod stuff over a radio station? Mr. Schony asked for one for Christmas, but I've read nothing but bad reviews on it and that the frequency is always staticky. Was told to buy the good old fashion cassette insert and play it that way.

Most of the FM transmitters for iPods / CD players / etc that I've experienced tended to suck. Most of the time it wasn't a problem with interference, but more to do with sound quality.

Yeah, I've been in cars with people who have the radio one and the frequency can be messed up. My friend uses the cassette one and it's always been clear.

I like Christmas Songs, but only at Christmas and not in October, November, December.

The first icecold weekend and the radio stations start playing them all the day.

Definitely get the tape if you don't have the jack built into the stereo. I have an extra FM frequency one you can have if you'd like to give it a try, and it did work sometimes, but the tape is much more reliable.
