I forget what I was watching on there, Beth sent me the link, but the comments made me cry from laughter. The people were just going off about something. It was some kind of phone commercial or something. I really wish I could remember what it was but the comments put a smile on my face.

98% of the time, YouTube comments are amazingly hilarious. I especially love when people have debates about things that have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the actual video (or song or artist, as I tend to use YouTube purely for music purposes). There's a small meme going around of people making macros using YouTube comments... I giggle like a little girl whenever I see one.

Wrong, they reduced it, but it can still happen to the new ones.

The RRoD is something incorporated into the system, they would need to do a completely different remodel to stop it from happening.

The new 360's have about a 1-5% of getting it now or something.

On the Xbox Death Ring Thing, it's not that hard to fix. I've probably only played an Xbox 360 twice in my life (and a PS3 once), but I helped a friend fix one - there's a real good online tutorial. It's basically because the heatsinks were not connected very well, causing the solder joints to fail over time. Reattaching the heatsinks better stops that, but we found there were also a few solder joints that had to be resoldered - that was the tough part to find. But it hasn't failed since.

If you say the towel trick just send it in, because that will work for about a week or so and then break again.

But if you say breaking it apart and soldering it, then you better be hopeful it doesn't get the RRoD or you're shit out of luck when it happens since you just voided your warranty.

I need a way to tell off my father gently. I made the mistake of telling my mother that I was the only one to get an A on something in a large class of mine (I know this because the prof said there was only one A, and I had an A lol... I felt like a jerk when I expected that it would be me after he announced that, though), and it's something that I've always been good at, that people have always kind of expected me to do... and she told him, and now every time I talk to him he mentions it and how I need to do that with my life, except... After thinking about it all last summer I realized that I really just want to help people and would regret the rest of my life if I did anything different with it, and more likely than not my major next semester will be psychology. I know that this perceived support of his is his way of telling me loves me, and honestly I am SO glad that it is this way and not how it used to be. My father has changed SO much in the past 3-4 years, and I am so glad because I have two brothers who are still little kids, and the younger of them is probably not even going to remember when he was any different. And that's all I'll say about that... I am grateful he shows concern now, kind of, rather than the "that's not good enough" that it used to be (though I still think of him in those terms, which I... hate). But I hate that now I am feeling pushed to do something I don't want to do. I know that he will think I'm wasting the talent or potential or what have you that my parents recognized when I was, like, three. But I don't know how to tell him off gently, without hurting him, because I know that he's made a real effort to change, and I know that even alluding to the fact that I really do not enjoy what he sees as loving support would hurt him. And I don't want to do that. But aaahhhh it's so annoying. I wish I were less paranoid about hurting people and confrontation (I'm the most avoidant person ever, which is ironic because I LOVE debating with friends and differences of opinion in what direction things will go in and stuff like that), because I KNOW I have great tact.

lol anyway... How minor a problem to have.

I'm not gonna get a fucking PS3. Working at Gamestop, the PS3 wall is pathetic and there's really nothing that grabs my attention that I can't otherwise buy for my 360. PS3s also break, so it's not like they're immune to ever failing. My step-brother's broke under a year and it took almost 2 for something to happen to mine. I'm not saying that makes my 360 superior, but the PS3 isn't some glorious machine that never breaks like people make it out to be. Like any electronic, it's subject to fail.

And my 360 didn't red ring, the GPU has failed/is failing.

When the warranty is expired, that's not a worry.

The GPU coming loose is also what causes the red ring...maybe it's a similar problem but it's not causing the ring to appear?

I believe the GPU is a single board that can be found for $50 or so if it's fried.

I know that this is a bit off topic but how in the hell did you maintain a job at Game Stop, I remember a while back I wanted a job there and there was a requirement for all new employees to sell like a whole box of the gamers manuals in a like 2 weeks... There was no use for them because people had an amazing thing called the internet where they can just look up the hints and cheats, hell people went to the library just to ue their computers to get the information. I sold about 2-4 manuals a day but only by almost forcing the people to buy them and by tricking the parents buying the games for their kids "That game is very tricky, you can get hints, clues and even some cheat codes in this book and also a peak at new and upcoming games......buy it or Ill kill your children...". I didn't keep the job

Onto your 360, I would check how much it costs for a repair and if it even makes you think for a little bit that it may cost too much then get a new 360 because if it has broken once odds are it will break again.

The only thing I have to be annoying and sell is Game Informer subscriptions and pre-orders. Also, I have to encourage people to trade their shit in. I have goals to meet, but they're not set in stone.

you work at gamestop. im SURE you know all this, but. microsoft doesnt need a warrenty. you call, tell them whats up, they register it, you send it in, you get one back, all in about a 2 week span. plus the xboxes that come back have new stuff on em. it sucks, but they got that part right.

I also just used half a bottle of Fabreeze on everything in the house.
