That's right, in our last 9 games we have won 7 and only lost 2. And this is against the likes of the Blackhawks, Capitals, Flyers, and Rangers. Sure some of the games were close, but like Squanto keeps sayin' "a win is a win is a win" so I'll take em'

:D :D :D

One of the hottest in the league. Alsoo we should have one the first one vs. The Rags. Henrick bailed them out of that one.

Yea I know, but I always have that "what if" mentality. Like yesterday I was looking at all the drafts over the last 5 years. We took Drew Stafford over Mike Green, and Marek Zagrapan over Alex Semin....

Don't. Don't start playing that game. You'll drive yourself crazy. Wasn't Zetterberg like a 7th rounder or something?

No, I was joking around about the 1st post where he said "sure some games were close".. Some people think that winning a close game is not impressive and it doesn't make our team look good..

I just realized these 9 games were in a 16 day span as well. Wow!

Andrew Peters was also drafted 34th overall. Who went in that round after him? Mike Ribeiro and Mike Fisher...and Yes Zetterberg was in the 7th round....who did we take before him you ask? Brett Decceco, (who?) Seneque Hyacinthe, (who?) Ryan Miller (Thank god teams passed over him 5 times.), Karel Mosovsky (who?), Tim Preston (who?), Milan Bartovic (who?), and amazingly, in the first round...the one...the only... Barrett Heisten!!!!!!!!(who?)

With Miller it isn't a surprise he was drafted in the 5th round, goalies hardly ever go in the first few rounds as hardly any of them are good enough to be taken that early.

Unless your team is in a complete downfall and need a goalie badly, like Pittsburgh did with Fluery.

Yes, that's true...but I thought Miller may go a little higher, after all he did in College.

Normally college players go further back then players who are playing in the junior leagues.

How many First overalls came from the NCAA or something or even first rounders?

Winning a close game will always be more impressive than a blowout.

I'm not sure where that mentality comes from.

Who thinks that? I've been watching hockey forever, and the Hasek era certainly gave any dedicated Sabre fan an appreciation of "the close game". I think you(and a few other posters lately) are just being snarky(which could also be considered a breach of the no douche-bags policy). I'm not coming at you personally bro, just reminding people that we are ALL Sabre fans. There aren't 2 different kinds of fans here.

Also, the 7-2 avoids the 4 embarrassing loses in a row before that. While I agree that we may be getting hot, it seems to be somewhat deceiving.

It's been mentioned from time to time, displeasure expressed at the fact that the Sabres have a tendency to win close games.

I'm just like, "What, do you want them to lose the close ones or something?" :P

It's phrased in a way, though, that implies that they are a lesser team for it. People are dissatisfied without the occasional blowout. I just look at as if they're in the playoffs... Winning close games is a good thing.

There's no one in particular that says it all the time; it's just something that's been said many times, by various people, and always in a negative way.

Well, 2 points is 2 points. When you're in the playoffs in the 7th or 8th spot, remind them of those close games.

...and if they cry that 7th or 8th doesn't win any cups, then remind them that teams needs playoff revenue to sign all those free agent guys they spend their lonesome nights dreaming about. It's a business too.

Every team has embarrassing losses, you think the Caps getting shut out 3-0 wasn't embarrassing for them, especially for not getting shut out in 11 months?

The Boston game was unfortunate and we got a point out of it anyways, they came back to win the next four games after losing those four, so I think they stepped up nicely and avoided 5 straight losses.

You should cut with the shit and just enjoy it, we're winning, and that is all that really matters right now, win so we can get into the playoffs, and keep winning in the playoffs.
