Speculation aside, I don't mind multiple people taking draws. I think it makes it more difficult on the opposing centers to know what to expect.

Not only that, but this team has gotten so good at recovering from losing draws, it's almost been beneficial.

ALMOST. That's only if we can start winning those draws on a regular basis, and knowing how to recover just in case we don't.

Wut?

Certain centers are good at draws, because they are good at draws, not because they tricked anyone. Saying it's almost better to lose draws is what the wut is for. I guess I get your point, but even saying it is reaching, is reaching in itself.

As for my opinion. If Timmay needs to get better at draws to help his team, then he needs to stay after to work on it, especially considering he has Goose ALREADY THERE to help him. This guy has taken off the last 5 years for "soreness". Time to grow a set son.

Haha...I freakin LOVE how he compared him to pominville, as someone who sucks at taking faceoffs (and pretty much everything else imo), like..."look, he's even worse at faceoffs than POMINVILLE!"

OK, my turn for sarcasm(because it really is quite simplistic, not crafty at all):

Oh ya, Pominville is so bad he just helped win the last 3 games. Connolly may be on a huge pointless streak, but he was good in front of Lalime. Your a negative poster, and we shouldn't have to listen to you.

I said it was sarcastic.

Maybe sarcasm is the path to douche-dom. I'll have to confer with ferret on this.

Ha...dude, I dont know what the hell that was, but i'm not sore. I know lots of peeps like pominville, but I swear to god I see him miss 99 out of 100 shots. I see his constant inability to keep the puck in the zone while on the point during the PP, I see him pushed off the puck, outworked, outhustled, outskated. He's pretty good in his own end, and he does us a service on the PK, but this mofo is at least as overpaid as vanek if not more. He's weak, and I imagine he only keeps his role as a seeming favorite because he does exactly what ruff says, which is a positive, except for the fact that he gets lots of icetime.

But, if what you said was sarcastic, I dont know what you were serious about, so...whatever, maybe you'll find something more concrete to be angry about now? if you're really angry? Although why someone would be mad that I dont like pominville is beyond me.

Oh snap.

Wait, you're not implying that Daz is pominvilles man-slave, and thusly pissed that I find his employer lacking? Sigh, I guess he's broken the cardinal rule of being a good man-slave, getting overly attached. I know your heart is breaking into a zillion pieces dazzy old boy, but be strong, stiff upper lip and all that.

OMG dude, I was being sarcastic. I've personally never been real high on Pommers. I think he pretty much stole his fame by playing with Briere. Without a great play-maker on the ice feeding him tip-ins, he's ordinary. We over-paid for him, IMO. You guys imagination is off the charts btw. LOL

I had high hopes for him after 07-08, when he put up 27-53-80 without Briere on the team anymore. His problem now is that team defense has tightened up so much, and he's too small to generate a good forecheck, and his linemates are always too fancy.

The gap in the style of play between the top two lines and bottom two really paint a clear picture. It doesn't matter how good your hands are, during 5-on-5 the way the game is now the bigger and stronger players that play gritty are going to succeed in getting pucks on net and creating ugly goals. The skill players are going to be neutralized by physical teams or defensively disciplined teams.

This is why I'd like to see the rest of the forward lines put together like the Vanek-Kennedy-Grier line. A tough, physical, good forechecker needs to be paired with a playmaker and scorer. Three skill forwards just won't be able to keep the puck long enough to capitalize on their skills, and they will rely to heavily on their skills to make the play. It would take an awful lot of pressure off of Roy, Connolly, and Pominville to have someone else working the boards and give them some space at times to actually produce when they have chances.

Ellis-Connolly-Stafford
Hecht-Roy-Pominville
Vanek-Kennedy-Grier
MacArthur-Gaustad-Kaleta

Make it happen Lindy!

It's not about tricking anyone. But not everyone takes draws the same way.

There are many different ways to win draws, and certain players use some better than others.

That's why when you see multiple different people in the face off circle, you can't always be sure which way to win it back.

I'd like to see Connolly get better on draws, but I just feel like there has to be a reason for him not working on it. I can't see him as the type of guy to just blow it off.

I dunno. I find it weird how Connolly is just blowing it off. You think he'd want to get better for the cases when he has to take important draws.
I've heard from reliable sources that Timmy is one of the more douchey guys off the ice, so I don't know if that relates at all to his attitude on the ice?. who knows.
however it is apparently something that Timmy doesn't want to talk about.
