HAWKS' KANE LEAVES GAME AFTER HITTING HEAD; WON'T RETURN

"The Chicago Blackhawks' leading scorer Patrick Kane left tonight's game against the Lightning after hitting his head on the ice and will not return.

The 21-year old was sent sprawling by Lightning defenceman Matt Smaby near the end of the first period and appeared to slam his head on the ice. He left the ice under his own power and was sporting a small cut on his face. Smaby received a tripping penalty on the play.

Kane was not on the Hawks bench to begin the second period. He had scored his 10th goal of the season earlier in the game."

Yes, I was watching that game.
Anyone see that amazing save by Niittymakii at the very end of the game. It was an incredible desperation save, not that it really mattered because his team was down 4-0. If you haven't seen it, you definately will see it on some highlight reel pretty soon.

Madden Curse? haha

I hope he's alright, hate to see any player getting hurt, especially seriously.

at the very end...what an awesome save. (that would be funny if Ohlund poked it in)
Also look at Hossa's goal. He caught it, dropped it, and before it hit the ice, knocked it in.

Get well soon, Pat. You're still one of us no matter what.

Smaby tripped him as Kane was nearing the boards, and he duffed his face right off the ice. A harder collision and he could have really fucked up his eye socket.

He looks out of it in that picture. (Well, most people who are concussed do, immediately after hitting their heads... durrrr.)

I hope he'll be all right.

WOW, he definitely smacked his melon good. I hope they keep him out as long as he needs to fully heal.

Smaby was being a douhebag last night. The trip of Kane was an accident but he went head hunting on Toews and ws trying to et himself killed by trying to start shit with Eager.

Smaby, Smaby not. I need to ponder this before jumping to conclusions.

From the glazed over look on his eyes, I can all but promise you that's a concussion. Never good, I saw the play, and he never really broke his fall with anything but his head...scary stuff indeed.

He's totally fine, now, but perhaps the blow knocked some cents into him? Like 20, maybe?

Now that we know he's fine and that he's talking about the chics loving his scars, can I make fun of him for looking like he's crying in this photo?
