Andrej Sekera is the first Sabre to be officially named to an Olympic squad as he's been chosen for Slovakia. Jochen Hecht, Ryan Miller, Toni Lydman, Henrik Tallinder, Jason Pominville, Tim Connolly, Paul Gaustad and Derek Roy are all waiting to hear if they're going. Sekera said, "It's always good to make a national team, especially for an occasion like Winter Olympics. I'm just looking forward to it, it'll be great experience and hopefully I will be healthy."

Congrats Reggie.

His play as of late has been much improved.

Congrats to Sekera, he should enjoy this experience. And I agree with PSP, Andrea's play has been much improved. I like the way he is filling out as an offensive defenseman.

Not a bad team for Slovakia, but they don't really have the big names at forward aside from their top line there.

Doesn't look like their goaltending is too stellar, though.

Good for him but the Slovacks have to be really weak to be asking Sekera.

I thought so too until I saw Chara on the back end, as well as Hossa and Gaborik manning the forwards. Granted there isn't much depth past that, but it's a hell of a lot better then I thought lol.
