That's the main issue I think everyone has; the season before his huge contract was amazing. He did WORK.

Fair enough, then bring in(or offer big contracts to) the RIGHT players for this system. Don't give them the money, then tell them to be someone else. If anyone wants more Jochen Hecht's, I'm sure there are plenty of teams out there ready to deal for a guy like Vanek anyday.

But come on guys - in all honesty - as things are settled right now it really doesn't matter what TV will do it will never be good enough for everbody. So maybe a trade - like Icehound said - shouldn't be out of the question. Maybe he'll be appreciated for what he is somewhere else (like Max). Then on the other hand who would even consider taking over Vanek's contract???

This is not going well.

If he's injured, the responsible thing is to admit it, and not play - If it's another Lindy "head-game"...This'll be another Max-like alienation and a lot of foot-dragging and ugliness for the duration of the contract.

It gets ugly enough that Vanek looks reeeeeally bad, and no one will pick up his contract.

This management team shocks me with their narrowmindedness and "tunnel-vision". I've seen better-run high-school teams.

Montreal took Gomez(wayy bigger rip-off), who is useless unless he has a Vanek on his line.

Vanek will never turn into Afinogenov. Every time Lindy has challenged him, he's stepped up to the plate.

Afinogenov thought he was above being challenged, and continued to play the way he wanted to.
