Hmm. Can Patrick rival Scott Arniel's success? The PP hasn't been the same since he hit the highway. And it seems as if Patrick is gaining more and more responsibility as his tenure continues. He seems like a good coach. I've never been impressed with McCutcheon.

I would have thought Patrick was a big part of the PP coaching to begin with, given his experience as a player. If it's all up to him now, just maybe there is some hope. I sure would like to see the d-men look like they know what they want to do before they get the puck on their tape.

FWIW, my idea of a great PP is to have the d-men skate and move the puck quickly between them, open up a shot lane and put pucks on net (slap shot or wrist shot - IDC) and create rebound chances in front. Gaustad and Vanek should be rebound monsters and shoveling garbage into the net every night, but so far they've hardly seen any chances like this all season.

How bad a move can this be - we can only drop two more places. Good opportunity for Patrick, and if hre can coach Pomminville to fake his slap shot into a defender, move over three feet, and wrist it towards the net, our power play would probably increase it's scoring out put three fold!!!

He's still part of the coaching staff though, right? He's just not our PP specialist anymore, is that correct?
