For $5 million/year. Definitely. Same with Briere. Oh ya, if ya wanna re-sign Vanek for 3.8 before anyone puts out an offer sheet, then ya, do that too.

/Wait, scratch all that, I don't allow myself to discuss contracts right now.

Nope.
I think his play would have gone much differently if he had stayed with Buffalo, but at this point I don't want any part in him

My man crush on Drury that was forged long before he came to Buffalo has faded. The FA thing left kind of a bad taste in my mouth, but it was just business. Since he's been in NY, I haven't been impressed with his play at all. It's certainly not worth the contract that he has.

Yes. For the right salary, he's still a sound player and a team-leader.

The only player who is inexpendable at this point is Miller. The fact that he said he wanted to stay in Buffalo and if he was going to win a cup it would be with Buffalo amazes me.

Game 5 against the Rangers. He is clutch. I bet if he had Sabres uniform on he would go right back to the way he used to be. Would i want him back after leaving for the Rags... no.

For less than he is getting paid right now, yes. He has the ability to make guys like Pominville etc look like super stars.

Wayyyyy to much money, and he kind of flipped us the bird.

"When it came down to it, it was pretty easy." - Chris Drury on his decision to play for the Rangers rather than accepting the Sabres matched contract.

That said, his strengths are ideal for the system we're running.

No. Not only does he appear to have his best days behind him (in Buffalo, which is nice), he clearly wanted out of Buffalo for bigger bucks. He's now the underachieving captain of an underachieving team and his mystique is quickly dying. Reflections of Peca.

I would much rather have Briere back than Drury. We could use the scoring and he embraced Buffalo.
