He was at about a PPG pace at around game 16-17. Like others, I think something is up. My best bet is that he has a minor nagging injury, and he's too proud or frustrated to take any time off due to all the "glass man" stuff. I don't know about him well enough to guess if there's an attitude problem or a clash in mentality with the gameplan. I wouldn't consider his season a tank job by any stretch so far, but he does need to step up if the top six scoring is going to improve.

Just a thought, but if he's having any recurring concussion issues just putting your head down at the faceoff dot would be a problem. Maybe that's why he isn't working on it, because he can't. Not to throw out the worst case scenario on a pure guess, but it would make some sense.

I was a proponent of the Connolly signing at the time, but as time goes on, he just doesn't seem to have what he had before. He'd have to turn it around big time to win me over again.

Very good point, SFS1980,

Although it's just speculation, maybe the whole "Glass man" talk has finally got to him. Kinda like Vanek's case earlier in the season. Lindy mentioned to the media that he said coming back to the bench after a shift, "I don't have any confidence". Maybe he's getting inside his own head. Not trying to make excuses for him as I too agree he needs to step up and bring his "A" game. I've gone a few games without being able to make a solid pass or a smart play in my own end, let alone score a goal and it becomes real frustrating. Soon enough, you start to grip the stick a little harder, you dwell on missed opportunities and major gaffs. Next thing you know, you're not only playing against another team, but yourself included and it's not fun.

Then again, maybe he's just a crybaby who needs a good kick in the pants to get going. Maybe he thinks he's better than others, and when called out for his lack of face-offs or lack of production/effort, he bitches, pisses and moans and hugs his money for reassurance while looking in the mirror and saying, “its ok, money. Don’t listen to them. There there… it’ll be ok”.

One end of the spectrum to the other, it's all speculation really. If I were coach, I'd bench him for a game or two. If he's got an injury, let him rest. If he's got an attitude, let him pout in the press box. If he's mentally off his game, get him a shrink.

All I know is this jackass needs to shit or get off the pot.

I really didn't want them to resign him. Even with his current drought though, he has accumulated a decent amount of points for a line 2 player Squanto. Its ironic, but he is on line 2 and he does have line 2 numbers to date. But I do agree with you, he seems to have lost his edge. I don't know what exactly is wrong with him, I thought for sure him and MacArthur would click together.
This is one time I am preplexed at the situation. Out of all of our top 6, he is the one I would have thought was going to step up and show leadership. :?

Something is up with timmy outside of hockey.

I really wish he would quit it and start playing hockey.

I don't know, maybe Connolly should have a porn addiction. Dreakon may be correct in this. If he refuses to "Grab the Bull by the Horn" during regular practice, maybe an after practice hobby is what he needs  .

It's supposed to be a great stress reliever. ;)

Note the emotional distance in that statement. "It's supposed to be a great stress reliever". You heard that from a friend right?
