He hasn't scored in forever, and was playing like crap. The Ottawa game earned him a hook and a night off.

Has anyone mentioned his sub-par performance as of late?

He isn't nearly playing to expectations so far this year. I think everyone was hoping/expecting a 30 goal season this year. So far he's played like crap.

I've heard rumors that his recent play has lacked, how you say, skill.

I heard that his vaginitus has been acting up, and it's really hampered his physical play, and willingness to drive the net. It's also lead to random spurts of bleeding for days, and unexplainable mood swings from insanely horny, to manically depressed. It's a very complicated time in his life...

I think he was benched because I wasn't playing very well, or at least not as well as some of the other players who weren't benched.

I prayed to the Festivus God that he would score on that penalty shot.

I think ICE, you and I have spoken how they don't drive to the net enough.
I am not sure on Pommers goal, but on Drew's goal, he drove to the net, gobbled up the rebound and gee whiz, he scored a goal. On Goose's goal, Drew drove to the net from the boards and made the pass, of course, it helped that Goose was big, bad and parked in the crease area.

What a difference this team makes when they play offensive style. Both of those plays atleast were not defensive. I hope Lindy continues to let them play like that.

Edit: Pommers did drive to the net:

"Pominville scored a power-play goal three minutes later converting a give-and-go with Tim Connolly. Feeding Connolly in the left corner, Pominville drove to the net, got the return pass and snapped a shot that beat Marc-Andre Fleury just inside the far post." - NHL.com
