...coming into the game for the all time record vs Pittsburgh??

59 - 59 - 41

That's the closest series with the most ties between any two teams in the NHL, all time!

one tidbit stat I love. in the last two meetings vs Pitts.

Lalime has stopped 50 of 51 shots from the Stanley Cup Champions.

That is a perfect rivalry right there.

Too bad there isn't really one, beyond hating Sidney Crosby. :(

i remember a game from 2000-2001 on espn... buffalo hopped out to a 3-0 lead, and lost 6-3... they pulled dom. they put it on ESPN, because mario announced he was coming back. his first game was the night after.

that 2000-2001 team, to me, is still the best sabres team i ever saw. over the 2005-2006 team in fact.

Can't get the thought of Dom letting in that series winning goal to Darius fucking Kasparities.

they had that series... and buffalo flat out dominated new jersey that season. i firmly believe they could have skated against the aves in the finals.

I remember that fucking shot Kasperitis took that squeaked by Dom's blocker.

I was miserable.

And even Sydney isn't completely hateable when he's not whining or punching guys in the sack.....

Sydney and Jizz Semin could make a gay fight flick, perhaps......

From the NYT Slap Shot blog:

The Sabres have been hanging around with the fourth best record in the East, patiently waiting to pick off whichever team straggled from the top three, like a lion loitering near a small herd of wildebeest. On Tuesday the Penguins may have strayed a little too far from the watering hole, and the Sabres pounced.

FUCKING LOVE IT.

Meh, that's all you needed to see...it was just a recap of the night's games with that glorious lead-off.
