Fun trip with a good friend of mine.

We left at about 10:30 this morning and made our way up as a very solid blizzard was passing though. The roads were absolutely terrible and people were off the road all over the place.

But I love driving in those conditions. Is that weird? I find it engaging.

Anyways, when we hit the border, we sat in line in the car at customs for a solid painful hour as the line slowly advanced. The agent we checked with was a bit of an (insert explicit here).

After a short drive up to Montreal, we found a place to park and went inside. I got the sense that people around me talking in French were talking about us but I couldn't be sure haha.

When you walk through the halls there, everyone boos you within a 15 foot radius after one person starts. I actually had a lot of fun with it, but it's pretty awkward at the same time.

The goal was awesome. If you think it looked good on TV... wow.

Other than that, it was MILLERRR, MILLERRRR, MILLERRRR all game. I must have yelled it 8 or 9 times. He was unreal tonight.

And I oleyed the whole way out. 8-)

That's awesome...glad you had a good time. I would love to visit the Bell Centre some day, I bet it's amazing to watch a hockey game there.

How were the fans to you?

Outside of the booing in the hallway, they were just fine.

A couple of snark comments here and there, but I think because it was a 3 PM game, the atmosphere was a little different than it may normally be.

As a side note, the women there are gorgeous, and really flirty. I'm definitely going back.

what was the % of buffalo fans at the game?

was there a higher percentage of buffalo fans at the game than usual at away games?

how does buffalo compare fan wise to montreal/nyr/pittsburgh/ottawa/toronto/boston?

Just kidding.

Haha just stuff like, "Sabres suck," coupled with staring and muttering in French.

Haha not quite sure. The arena is so insanely massive, that you couldn't really tell. I did run into a few Buffalo fans, but not many.

The most Buffalo fans I've ever seen at an away game was on a trip to Boston back at the start of the 2006-07 season when we opened on a 10 game winning streak. A horde of us chanted undefeated on the way out.

I'd also like to add that there's something mesmerizing about beautiful women speaking in French.

i couldnt agree more. montreal women are beautiful.

that being said. ive been to several games in montreal (actually going back in February to see them play the Pens, i think). anyway, i love the Bell Center. ive never had an issue with the fans and the cheering is a lot less annoying in person then it is on TV.

They were probably snarky with you because their women were flirting with you! ;)

I'll third that motion. As someone who went to college there, I can't even tell you how many times I fell in love at first sight over the course of the average day. The women all bring their "A game" at all times, to the point where even women who might not care about their appearance if they lived elsewhere start bringing their A game to keep up with the Joneses.

When in Rome syndrome...nothing to complain to that regard

That is insanely weird because that's exactly how I was going to describe it.
