This guy clearly can not adapt to the non clutch and grab hockey today and for that I think he should be let go. He also hates young players (see Filatov). He was lucky last year Mason was good or this team would have just been as bad as they are right now.

Thoughts?

I've always thought he was a terrible coach.

And Columbus is on a big tail spin right now so his days should be numbered.

Hitchcock is an awesome coach. He shouldn't be fired.

Filatov was rushed into the NHL too early I think, he wasn't ready and that is a huge reason he is playing in the KHL right now.

He should have stayed in Russia for another year anyways.

Nearly every coach ends his job by being fired. The question is when to give them the hook.

Columbus is 14 points out of the last playoff spot. Management has to ask themselves if this team has the ability to make up those 14 points in the second half of the season simply by replacing the coach. If the answer is 'no,' then what is the point in firing the coach during the season?

The problem was Filatov is an offensive player who was playing on the fourth line to work on his defensive game. Hitchcock is gonna ruin this kids career and yes he should be fired.

yes he should. go be an analyst or something. or make him the GM of columbus cause if he is that down on filatov maybe he'd be dumb enough to take a crap trade for filatov (joking, had to have some fun but pro seeing that prick fired).

Hell he is wrecking Mason as well, I know Mason has sucked this year but from the first time he was pulled this year he has gone down hill.

Hitchcock is by far one of the most overrated coaches in the entire NHL.

That is true also, trying to play defensive system with a pure offensive guy.
