Close friend of mine just told me she picked me up two VIP tickets given to her by her Uncle who gets them for free from his company.

I'm a little pumped... :D :D :D :D :D

ok montreal now long island huh ???

hmmm...why not just buy a vw bus, paint it blue and gold, and go to every sabres away game....heck even every home game too....

you just have to figure out what you can sell on the road to keep the bus a rollin' ;)

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Up until October of this season, I hadn't gone to a game in two years.

I've been waiting for them to be a more dominant team, because it's a lot of money to go see them lose.

So far, I'm 2 for 2 this season. Hopefully, they'll make it 3 for 3!

When you get back, let me know the percentage of Sabres fans versus Isles fans? Who was louder? What was the reception of the away fans by the home crowd?

j/k

Awesome man, have fun, and let's hope you're 3 for 3

Eww, trains.

I'm no stranger to the Lake Shore train. I've boarded that baby in Goshen, South Bend, Fort Wayne, various other random towns in Indiana, Toledo, and, of course, Depew. (Actually, double-decker trains on the lines that are multiple days long are awesome. Had a fifteen-hour ride from DC back to Indiana on one... Loved it.)

Funny, though. Was going to take the train to NYC and back once, but turned out that flying was less expensive. I would never have guessed that.

Some train routes are insanely expensive.

I can get from Albany to Grand Central for 34 bucks, and then I can take the Long Island Railroad for under 8.

When you consider the cost of gas, tolls, wear and tear on your vehicle, and incidentals, it makes sense for me to go this way.

Generally speaking though, the US really needs to improve its rail systems to make them more affordable and faster.
