My first reaction to Ryan Miller's post game press conference was, "Holy ****."

If you haven't heard his comments, listen by clicking below:

http://audio.wgr550.com/m/audio/2827139 ... stgame.htm

It's always good to see some fire. This is the rekindling of an old rivalry.

And I wonder what he's going to do when he's coached by Wilson at the Olympics...

I don't like it. I don't mind him taking the penalty to establish a little space in his crease, but by that point, the game had well been over. He's just showing that it gets to him. This kind of statement is only going to be like blood in the water for a bunch of sharks. You know that's going to be in the gameplan from here on out. And I want Miller focused, not steaming over some bumps. Hopefully he can regain his even keel.

Ryan Miller: "And it didn't work that time either"

I like it, personally. Fuck the Leafs. If he only lets in 2 goals on 50 shots, he can attack any Leaf he goddamn wants. I was at the game but I didn't really see the roughing call, I must've gone blind for a couple of seconds. Is there anywhere I can see it online? Does YouTube usually have roughing penalties? :P

Even though they're in our division, I don't consider them a rivalry and I was listening to Toronto before the Sabres were a team :o I hate them, but not like a Philly or Ottawa kind of hate. I wouldn't ever waste my dollar on going to a Sabres vs Leafs game.

Ryan should stop listening to the media. Maybe that means WGR or the Buffalo News should shut up or he should stop reading the Toronto Sun. I don't even know where it originated so I can't comment further.

The one thing I did like in that clip was at the end; "An hour & a half and they're home"

the toronto rivalry is only a rivalry from the sabres end. toronto doesnt care about buffalo like they do the sens and habs. personally, i dont hate the leafs.

that being said, fuck it. i originally thought the same way ham did, cause i think ham is wise. but at the same time, miller is miller, and this gets him going. but toronto wont suck forever. especially since monster is the real deal.

That's why I don't understand why Miller would be so adamant? Leafs are no rivalry for me. I could care less about them.

The only reason I really hate the Leafs is because their fans who come to HSBC Arena are fucking awful.

I loved Miller in his post-game interview. Just saying how he hates the Leafs and he enjoys sending them on their 90 minute commute back home. He's fucking awesome and I love that he is so candid in interviews.

Sorry but I'm really drunk but that's how I feel. I loved it when he punched Stajan and he was jsut a little bitch about it and Miller was like, "Take the punch like a man." Gotta love it!!!

Normally, I would agree with you, Hammy, but there is so much chum in the Toronto waters right now that they don't even notice the little bit of blood that Miller added to it last night. I read the accounts of last night's game in the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Sun, and the Toronto Star and none of them even mentioned Ryan's comments.

They are too busy going after the Leafs themselves.

If anyone should be criticized for calling out the Maple Leafs it should be their coach, Ron Wilson. I don't like the way he publically berated Phil Kessel. Suddenly he is putting all of the Leafs' woes on this kid's shoulders. Kessel is going through a scoring drought, but he is not the reason why the Leafs are so inept. You know a coach is in trouble when he starts attacking the media, which is what Wilson also did by ranting on about how the NHL should have airport-like security to keep the press out of practice.

It's Kessel's fault, it's the media's fault...maybe the problem is a lot closer than Wilson realizes...like right in the mirror.

Whether Miller expresses himself about being bumped or interfered with is irrelevant it's still gonna happen either way. All the coaches in the league know that the best way to score on Miller is traffic in front and shots from the point. I personally think it's a very good thing Miller is adressing this because one it fires him up and two it fires the team up and makes them accountable for not clearing the crease.

They've lost 10 in a row to Buffalo.

There is plenty of hate in Toronto for the Sabres.

Either way, that's just talking about the fans.

I'm referring to a team rivalry. It appears as though the Sabres are starting to hate Toronto more than any other team in the league.

Agreed.

. . . and what Schony said.

I thought I was the only one lacking intense Leaves hatred. I guess the fans are jerks, but I haven't experience that personally, having been out of town since that has flamed up. Maybe the Leaves are mad at Punch Imlach?

I reserve ALL my hatred for Philly! Memories of the 70's Broad Street Bullies.

I can tell you from living in Toronto and having attended a few Sabres vs Leafs games at the ACC myself there is quite the rivalry. Buffalo isn't such a well liked team around here, losing 10 straight now sure doesn't help the cause. I remember last game i went to at the ACC when the sabres were in town. I went with a friend and we wore Miller jerseys, I'll never forget walking back to our seats these 3 leafs fans tapping us on the shoulder and saying "If you guys were a little older we'd spill our beer over your jerseys." Yes the sabres aren't well liked around here whether it be in school, at the ACC or just in the city. So comments like these from Ryan sure makes me happy too!
