Just for the sake of fun, let's assume that the Sabres are on their way to the Stanley Cup finals. Which Eastern Conference team would you like to see them knock off on their way to the final series for the Cup? Not the easiest team to beat, but the one that would give you the most pleasure in seeing the Sabres eliminate.

A current rival? An old rival? A team that previously eliminated us in the ECF (or Stanley Cup finals)? A darling of the league? And do you want to see them crushed in four games or would you like to see a seven game nail biter, with plenty of overtimes?

What would be the perfect storybook series to win the Prince of Wales trophy?

Ottawa, 4 games to 1. Let history repeat itself with more at stake.

I want Ottawa to meet us in the ECF and CRASH AND BURN in our wake.

The Hurricanes would be a fitting opponent, too, but they aren't making the playoffs this season

Ottawa Senators. We all know the hatred against them and I would love to destroy them in an ECF.

For me it came down to the Flyers, Senators, and Penguins. I would like to get payback against the Flyers for '74 and it would also be great to get the Senators demon off our back, but I picked Pittsburgh because they have all that talent, are the darlings of the league, and are the defending Stanley Cup champs.

I want Buffalo to win by defeating the best in the league so that when we finally get our championship no one can say it was a fluke. I would like to see it go seven games, with a few OTs, have people say it was the best series they had ever seen, and have game seven finish up at HSBC.

That would be the dream.

Then we beat Dallas in the finals...in game six...in triple OT...2-1 (I also want the Bills to win four straight Super Bowls - I am carrying around some demons).

Honestly, either Pittsburgh, because they are the darlings and my hate for Crosby runs deep, or Philidelphia because 1)I HATE Mike Richards and think he is an overrated cheap shot artist 2) I HATE Chris Pronger and think he is also an overrated cheap shot artist 3) I HATE Ray Emery and think he is just overrated and 4) Everyone (including the Hockey News) picked them to win the Cup. As much as I want them to not make the playoffs at all, seeing my beloved Blue and Gold crush their hopes of reaching the destiny all of the "hockey minds" had predicted for them would give me just as much satisfaction.

For everyone who wants it to be Pittsburgh, I have two words to stir up ugly memories: Darius Kasparitis.

For all the talk of Toronto being our rivals, it would appear from this (admittedly tiny) sample that it is Ottawa that we see as the team we hate the most.

No one denies that while Toronto is our rival, Ottawa makes us seeth the most. We hate Toronto for the fans, while we hate Ottawa for the team. And the fans - remember when some Sens fans jumped a woman wearing Sabres gear at Scotiabank? I do.

There is nothing that I'd love to see more than the league's poster boy fall to the mighty Buffalo Sabres.

It'd be the biggest ass kissing fest for Buffalo in history.

Well if Toronto became a decent team their hatred would grow tenfold from us.

But we haven't had to worry about Toronto as much as Ottawa.

The Rangers are easily my least favorite team in the league...but I chose the Senators. Just with all of our recent playoff history with them and how we always struggle against them in the regular season, defeating then in the Conference Finals would be the most satisfying for me.
