Do any of you think the sens' would be up to trading fisher if we offered them Roy + Stafford. The sens are kind of banged up and could use the scoring threat and fisher is a sabre killer, good at face offs, and has a bit of grit. the money would leave buffalo slightly in the advantage column by about a mill or so maybe a macArthur or mancari instead of stafford. I haven't tried this on NHL 010 or anything like that i was just thinking of ridding of roy and bettering the sabres. Just play with the idea i figured it would involve roy, and fisher as the cap numbers would be similar.

I would kill for Fisher. If Darcy could make that happen reasonably, I'd be pleased.

i figured we rid of a guy who turns the puck over a lot and pick up a responsible penalty killer with a scoring touch. as well roy would be closer to his home town, and Carrie underwood would no longer have to suffer watching terrible senator's hockey.

If only Roy was traded for Fisher straight up but that would never ever happen.

Fisher is about as good as Roy. I would say Roy+ a 5th would do it. Roy has more points you know...

But Fisher is more compatible with Lindy's system.

i wouldn't mind having Mike Fisher at all. He's been having a great year. If the deal is reasonable id say do it right away

like phil said mike is a bit more compatible, and fisher's last name isn't afinogenov like roy has been becoming. plus i looked at the salary conditions roy's cap hit goes up while fisher's goes down as years progress. so we would be gradually saving more space in the cap especially if it decides to take a drop.

that is why i threw in stafford (figured the sens would be giving up cap space so the get that extra player).

Mike Fisher would be a great player under Lindy Ruff - he's fast, responsible, a more capable center than Roy, and has enough pizazz without all the giveaways.

But isn't Stafford AND Roy a bit much? Maybe Lydman and Roy for him?

A players cap hit never changes under the same contract; cap hit is the averaged salary over the terms

This is just me being a guy who owns a Lydman jersey, but I would NEVER want to see Loods in a Sens jersey :(

Roy and Staff or Fisher? No thanks. One of them, sure.

my original was just roy + for fisher. i just said stafford b/c his name has popped up a few times in the trade category, and he has a bit of the offensive side that would peek the sens. say roy and a 4th or 5th. the whole point is just would you want fisher here, and what you think it would take to get him here.

Why would the Sabres have to add the sweetener to a Fisher for Roy deal?

Roy is having a down year offensively and is still on pace to outscore Fisher this season.

Add in that Roy has the more cap friendly contract and I don't see how Fisher has more trade value than Roy does.

And given Connolly's injury history, I'd stay away from moving Roy in a deal for Fisher.

I'd lean more towards an offer like Stafford and Sekera for Fisher.

I'd do it but Ottawa and Lispy would want more ;)
