Starts tonight...here are some bullet points.

*Final season for Simon Cowell. It will be hard to imagine the show without him.
*1st season for Ellen Degeneres. I think she'll do well. Provides a fan's perspective.
*Kara should be more comfortable in her 2nd year. Most importantly: Easy on the eyes. 8-)
*Show is aging and less relevant IMO, but will still be the highest rated program on TV.
*Expanded audition rounds this year, and continuing with the Wildcard round.

I'm not going to bust your stones on being a fan of the show, it just doesn't appeal to me.

Bust away! I make fun of myself all the time for watching. Kinda like that Seinfeld episode when Jerry pretends to not watch Melrose Place, but when his cop girlfriend busts him on a polygraph he says fuck it...that's my attitude!

I have no shame.

I've been known to watch the trainwreck first episode, but when people actually start singing I find it unbearable.

I've watched it in the past. I don't think it really produces anyone interesting, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Adam Lambert, and Clay Aiken being the exceptions.

Personally, I much prefer America's Got Talent.

I prefer the blunt instrument to the eye, please.

I have never watched a single episode of American Idol and I plan to keep it that way.

I'm not letting you put your eye anywhere near my blunt instrument.

Psst, for everyone who wants to get into American Idol this season (Howie, I'm looking at you here), this sums up the offseason nicely

i do watch this show, probably because i did sing in chorus in high school and college, but i really enjoyed that NBC's sing off, all a capella, having to sing as such in the past it is harder and takes more skill to stay on note then if you have music. But like usually to be successful on this show they will have to take a song and add their own spin to the song in order to win. and if simon leaves the show will not be the same at all, unless they can find another straight shooter.

I'm glad you're back for another round! I think you're going to like Tim Urban. I'm not sure what night his audition is on, but I think he's more up your alley this year ;)

I think we should use this as our AIGDT when the Sabres aren't on. I'll be here tonight

For those of you that don't watch the show, you can skip this one. The rest of us can laugh our butts off. Some of them are priceless.

Don't forget Kelly Clarkson!

I can't wait...but to tell the truth, I hate the audition part. I can't help feeling bad for the train wrecks. They truthfully think they're something and then Simon makes them all suicidal. Sad, really.

But I love to see someone come out and blow us all away and watch to see how far they go. I remember Kellie Pickler coming out and now we have her CD!! Cool! Although, I really don't think she's all that great a singer, but my son likes her because she's pretty and blond. Boys... :snooty:
