Brian Burke's "new-and-improved" Toronto Maple Leafs take the ice against the Sabres, in Buffalo's fourth preseason game.

We're likely to see Toronto's newest "franchise player" and savior, Phil Kessel, receive some ice-time - In what promises to be the renewal of a longstanding and sometimes bitter rivalry.

Draft pick Nazem Kadri, who scored the shootout winner for the Laffs last night, is still entertaining hopes of cracking the line-up of this beefed-up and newly "gooned-up" squad.

The Good Guys have their own weapons in their battle for "truth, justice and the American way" - Tyler Myers and Chris Butler, leading the charge as the future face of the Sabres' D, aren't likely to be pushed around by any team.

Further toughened by the additions of Mike Grier (god love 'im) and Steve Montador, these are the "new-look" Sabres.

Bubble-Boys Mike Weber and Nathan Gerbe will also be giving their all to earn a permanent role on a team that is finding an identity around hustle-n-flow, grit players like Paul (Goooose!) Gaustad, Danny (catch-me-if-you-can) Paille, Patty Kaleta (PK on the PeeKay) and Matt (Don't send me down) Ellis.

Time for more pieces to fall into place - As fan favorites Thomas Vanek (some call him TV), Tim (Timmah) Connolly, Derek Roy and Jason (Broad-side) Pomminville look to hone their scoring touch against Leafs-starter Vesa (Don't touch my) Toskala...

Much fireworks expected, yo - Chime in with the video feeds and various other links. Let's get this started, uh-huh.

I have tickets for this one, and plan to urinate on any and all Leafs fans.

Why is it when I think of the Leafs and what team they'll ice during the either the pre season or regular season, what comes to mind are a bunch of AHL goons with the exception of maybe 2 or 3 guys or so?

Oh yeah, and Phil Kessel...

On a more serious note, as I said in another post, this team is going to be the spoilers for a lot of others this season. If they're losing on the scoreboard, expect them to beat you physically. Typical Brian Burke Fashion.

We best load our lines up tonight and be ready for a real knuckle dragger. Maybe we get to see what McCormick and Montador are really made of? Kaleta's line will likely log a lot of ice time as well. Call me crazy but I have a hinting suspicion the Leafs will be playing anything but hockey tonight.

Kinda wish Adam Mair was fit to go for this one.

LOL Squanto!!!

Please have an extra beer for me to add to the urination as I will be at work. I have some friends who are leaf fans which I KNOW are waiting and hoping for a Sabres loss tonight to ram it in my face. When the Leafs lose, these guys always use the excuse that, "It's only the preseason". Until they beat someone else's team. Then they've basically won the Stanley fucking Cup.

Quite pathetic actually but annoying none the less.

I was just looking and saw that the game is on the NHL Network tonight. On a side note, Max debuts with the Thrasher's tonight.

Us locals had better not be blacked out. I would not be happy especially since I'll be at work all night and can't watch it till I get home.

GO SABRES!

They talked about this on WGR yesterday. Said that they talked to the Sabres, and even though the game is listed, is SHOULDN'T be on around here.

Good luck on that one though, sounds like a crapshoot to me.

Sorry Schony (and all of us) Looks like it will be blacked out, according to Mike Harrington on Sabres Edge blog this morning. His game day notes:

Quote:
Goalies: Ryan Miller, Jhonas Enroth

Defense: Steve Montador, Toni Lydman, Henrik Tallinder, Chris Butler, Nathan Paetsch, Andrej Sekera, Tyler Myers.

Forwards: Cody McCormick, Derek Roy, Daniel Paille, Drew Stafford, Jeff Cowan, Mike Grier, Paul Gaustad, Jason Pominville, Matt Ellis, Clarke MacArthur, Philip Gogulla, Jochen Hecht, Tim Kennedy.

Getting the night off are Mike Weber, Tim Connolly, Thomas Vanek, Patrick Kaleta, Nathan Gerbe and Craig Rivet.

Notes on the roster: It's Montador's first game (he's had a neck stinger), while Myers, Kennedy and Butler will all make it 4-for-4. No word yet on the goaltending situation but coach Lindy Ruff said last week Miller's three exhibitions would likely be full 60-minute performances.

The Leafs' roster: Vesa Toskala and Joey MacDonald are scheduled to be in goal. The defense corps will include Luke Schenn, Garnet Exelby and Ian White and the forwards will include Niklas Hagman, Matt Stajan, Alexei Ponikarovsky, Jason Blake, John Mitchell, Mikhail Grabovski and top draft pick Nazem Kadri, the seventh overall choice in Junei. Not scheduled to dress are veterans Jeff Finger, Mike Komisarek, Lee Stempniak, Tomas Kaberle, Wayne Primeau, Francois Beauchemin, Colton Orr

Also, the game will be televised on the NHL Network -- but it's blacked out in Buffalo even though there's no MSG telecast. Regional network exclusitivity rules. Boo. One of the referees is St. Francis product and Buffalo native Chris Ciamaga.

For now it is being posted on atdhe. If the link will work or not is TBD. Myp2p.eu isn't showing tonights lineup just yet, that will likely be updated later this afternoon...

If I can find a working link to this tonight (I'll be at work during the game) I'll be sure to post it!

Ok, so it's being listed as being brodcasted on two different streams, besides the atdhe site so that gives us a possible 3 in total (for now). We won't know till game time if any of these work, but this is what I got off the myp2p.eu forums gang...

http://www.myp2pforum.eu/nhl-icehockey/ ... 009-a.html

Hopefully we get something!

LETS GO BUFFAL!!!!

I've never watched a game on an online feed before, are they good quality?

Well, depending on the host site, it may be a bit choppy and there may be some lag. It really depends on what kind of system you have I find, fly. My makeshift system at home here would likely burst into flames should I attempt to watch a game on this thing, but to stream it at work (which I'm not allowed to do but do so anyway:P) she flows pretty smoothly with minor glitches.

The washington game a few nights back was pretty decent and I believe that cast was strung together last minute by some of the faithful! As much as I enjoy listening to Harry Neil and RJ, I'd like to see our boys and what they're shapping up like before seasons launch. So any site that offers a sabres game, I'll tollerate their announcers :P
