It's easier for young, attractive college girls to sell you...
Anything and everything. Frankly, I cannot understand why there is a single male sales representative in any field, anywhere, ever. Give it 10 more years and the male sales rep will be about as common as the male nanny. I should know, I'm a male sales rep, and can tell you that any halfway decent looking/sounding female would outsell me 1,000-1.
Men will ALWAYS give a female extra time and attention - for obvious reasons. A hint of flirt and he's sold. Also, men tend to puff up around other men, try to show they are smarter and more powerful than they really are, and are going to make damn sure they are going to "win" the negotiations - which are often harsh, cold and brutal.
Even selling to other females is an advantage for women, because men are perceived as confrontational liars, cheats and bullies, who tend to make them nervous right from the start. Women are innately perceived to be more sincere, nurturing, caring and trustworthy than men, and ease the tension of the sales process at "hello", while men really need to overcome built-in walls of skepticism to earn their trust.
That said, I have found decision making positions often more effectively handled by men. Women tend to get bogged down in "paralysis by analysis", getting so stressed over decisions both small and large they will turn to countless other people for "help" with making difficult choices, and then second guessing themselves and repeatedly hesitating even after making up their minds.
Male decision makers, meanwhile, are usually not afraid of pulling the trigger once they are confident in the best option, and are much more comfortable in that leadership role of "the buck stops here". Men also tend to have better filters, usually being able to block out their personal life stress from their business world so that their heads are more clear and focused on the decisions they need to make without all the other static getting in the way.
I realize their is much generalizing here, and it's all my opinion from years of life interactions and observations, not hardened facts that are studied and researched, so please don't feel the need to flame me!
