sorry, i dont have a link. i read it at the table while eating this morning. they say the following.

boston will win the division, followed by the toronto maple leafs, who they said will make the playoffs. followed by the sabres, who will be on the bubble, as will the ottawa sens. montreal, they wrote, is in big trouble.

i was surprised, but not overly shocked at the position of the maple leafs, as i feel they have gotten alot better this offseason.

"Prediction: The Leafs will improve by 12 to 14 points and make the playoffs."

oh, heres the link!

Well the Laffs maybe be better at stopping goals, but who on that team can score them?

what gets me is that the leafs improved greatly on defense. and its not like they were a 25 win team last year. they were a bubble team, albeit the far side of the bubble. they finished close to .500 ... they arnt the pathetisad team everyone makes them out to be.

When it comes to losing, the Leafs will find a way.

25 wins in an 82 games season is terrible.

Oh you said they weren't that. They were in the race for awhile, then fell out of it. They won't be in second, the Sabres are still the team who only missed the playoffs by 2 points, and the Leafs were in fourth last year.

but the leafs greatly improved, while the sabres improved only slightly. i think the sabres will finish second, but i wouldnt be shocked if the leafs did. plus, they have that goalie coming in pushing toskala.

He may be a big goalie, but it's not like he is proven to win at all yet.

The Sabres were and are a playoff team without the injuries they had last year, that can't be argued.

With and without Miller the team was so different. they were Bi-polar.

The Leafs making the playoffs? I'll believe it when I see it. Just like last year when everyone predicted Tampa to be "scary good". Okay.

Uh huh. Sure. Toronto in the playoffs? Right. Perhaps in another season, maybe two, but not this year, I don't think.

Hahaha Tampa Bay. I forgot about that. It amused me so much to see those predictions. Sure enough, they were all wrong.

tampa bay was a goalie and a d-man away from being respectable. the leafs wernt that bad BEFORE all these moves, and all these moves were positives. the sabres should take a lesson from burke, be more aggressive, and make changes where the team is weak.

Yeah, this isn;t the NFL where you can change out 60% of your roster and make a splash.

Yea, not everyone can go 1-15 then 11-5 the next year like Miami did.

But with the Sabres, we are really just a stud defender away, and maybe a guy who sticks up for his teammates away from making the playoffs.

We got the grit back which we needed, and we have skill players who can score. The biggest thing is how the defense will do. We weren't terrible, and we don't have a star defender, which iu don't think we really need, as long as everyone on D plays solid and smooth they will be fine.

Plenty of teams win without being full of star players, they all play well together which is what we need.

Heh...that's almost laughable. Toronto...playoffs...second place...I'd be willing to put money against that, and a considerable amount of it too.

Almost grabbed a USA Today too but the machine wouldn't open.

Yeah, that's an awful prediction for the Laughs to place that high.

This is how I think it will be

1. Boston because the rest of this division is a joke and
2. Buffalo because Miller stands on his head.
3. Montreal because they are too small and made way to many changes but the other two teams are just not that good.
4. Ottawa because they actually have a goalie but they still only have 1 line that scores
5. Toronto because they will be leading the league in PIM's and there PK will be awful.
