The Sabres have stayed in great shape this season, while the rest of the league has mysteriously suffered some of the same injuries that struck them for the past two seasons. Kevin Bieksa and others have suffered sliced ankle tendons (Paul Gaustad). There have been all kinds of injuries to goalies, including ankle injuries (Miller). Booth and a few others have had concussions (Connolly). Now Selanne got a broken jaw last night (Vanek).

So what's going on? Who or what gets the credit for this reverse karma? I'm going to offer...

- Darcy is using a voodoo doll in his office
- the training staff has turned the training room into a shrine to the hockey gods, they pray everyday
- the head trainer uses an ancient mystic salve on any bump, bruise, or muscle pull
- the team consults with a mysterious shaman that transfers any injury to a player on another team
- the team got a great deal on some HGH this season

Whatever the reason, I think they were due to not have so much bad luck in the injury dept this season. It's just extra that other teams are suffering so much at the same time.

I was thinking about this exact thing the other day.

It dawned on me that we really haven't had any injuries this season, while typically the Sabres would have three or four guys out at this point in the season.

They've certainly benefited from it. It's gotta be magic.

Magic...jinxing??? You guys are crazy if you believe that stuff. Mystic salve and shamans have WAY more power than that stuff.

I've thought this like, the whole season. It's really, really weird. I think this is one of those years where everything is going right.

I heard that Ruff bought some wigs and lipstick, and he had them playing roller derby in the off-season. Don't tell anyone else though.

I'd pay to see that.

Actually, it does sound like a great charity event, doesn't it? I mean the players would have to like it more than the same old crap, and the fans would ACTUALLY be enjoying themselves.
