I like it. she is a true fan and will hopefully comment free from the bias that comes from judges in the biz looking for marketability over who is just the best. She's a lot of fun, and will offer great banter.

I guess she did Dancing with the Stars too, but I don't watch that show. Anyone know how she was on there? It'll be interesting to see the dynamic between her and Simon. Also, I really hope Kara plays down her fake lesbianism she did all last season...

I'm a huge Ellen fan though, so I think it'll be great. Paula wasn't exactly the most qualified to judge music either, but she added a nice positive element and I think Ellen could bring that, too.

i think its fine. i never watched American Idol to begin with...scratch that, i watched 1 episode, they were doing Queen songs and it made my ears hurt. in any case, i think she'll do fine and hopefully offer fan opinions vs business opinions.

It's all good...I haven't even watched a single episode of the show since its first season. I just find it laughable how some people are acting as if she was just appointed a seat in the senate or something... It's American Idol, people...
