It doesn't bother me, but I think you are in the majority. I'm amazed at the number of people here in Florida who have never been in a lake. I grew up swimming in lakes and quarries in WNY.

It's probably the inferi waiting at the bottom of the lake waiting to grab you and devour your soul.

I've been swimming in the ocean since I was a kid so aquatic life doesn't bug me too much, nor does the lack of a bottom. There is some level of disturbing knowing that shit is constantly swimming around you feet, but it's all mostly harmless.

yeah, that is the biggest thing you need to worry about in Florida and bodies of water. I haven't worked out much in years, The sad thing is, my job can be affected by my lack of fitness which is bad. When I was in my early 20's I probably was my most fit since a buddy of mine was an exercise freak and would be a major motivator for me. I've tried several times in recent years but always slacked off and now that I'm getting older it will undoubtedly affect my health. So anything that would get me going, like the Wii Fit, then I'm going to try it

I've been a steady 136 since I was thirteen. I haven't gained nor lost a pound since then. I'm 5'9", which gives me a BMI of 20.1, though BMI is sort of useless unless it is either abnormally low or high.

I had to work out last semester for a class that was essentially Gym for College Students. I hated it, because it was something I had to do. I am going to try to get to the gym pretty regularly this semester, though, as a choice. I am certainly not overweight, but I'd like to be in shape.

I weigh 250ish right now. Lots and lots and lots of beer, fried foods, and a lack of any sort of activity contributed greatly to my ballooning above my usual 225 and size 36. I need to curb this bulging belly of mine.

Tonight, I bought a DDR pad and two games. When I was young and fit (read: 19 - 21), I was playing Dance Dance Revolution an hour a day at least on hard. It's wicked tough when you get toward the end of an hour, but the workout is intense.

I'm gonna start walking again, and maybe doing some light lifting just to better define my arms for when it's sleeve tattoo time.

I don't think that to be true... A close friend of mine is a kinesiology major who regularly lectures me on how good 'fish oil' supplements are, along with his regular omega 3 supplements.

I'm not sure if you were referring to the various creatines and whey proteins out there or harder anaboids... But there is some good stuff out there.

I used to take a product called NO-xplode... Never again. I was told it made your veins larger so more blood and this and that could get to the muscles and increase blood flow. Think viagra, but not location specific so your whole body got a dose. Well I took it an hour before i was working out (tasted like absolute shit) and i was sitting in the middle of a class with my heart pumping harder than it ever had before while i wasn't even moving. I went to the gym and tried to do my regular routine -- it didn't even phase me. I increased my usual max on a bar curl by more than 25 pounds like it was nothing. I also popped a blood vessel in my eye, it was gross.

I can't say that anything that can change you that much can be good for you

fish oil and omega 3 are more like vitamins than supplements. some people think there is no difference between the two, however, i identify a strong line between them.

the fish oil and omega 3 doses are typically something that can be came by naturally, such as eating an extra fish a week or something. however the doses of things like creatine are found in huge portions of food. i know this math isn't correct, but like a serving of creatine powder takes like 12-15 pounds of red meat to equate. i think i'm even estimating on the low side.

I take:

Multi-vitamin
Probiotics
CLA
Digestive Enzymes
Green Tea Extract
and
Chromium

None of these are designed to do anything other than be antioxidents, and natural thermogenics. Nothing dangerous about any of them, and any report that says different is 100% false.

As Markus has disturbingly pointed out time and time again I am "smaller than most women."

I used to hold steady at 145 pounds, but I have in the past year bulked up a little to 150, which makes me happy. I tend to be very active whether I'm actually working out or not. I figured one day at work I walk anywhere from a quarter to a half mile every day.

Beyond that I am continually running around my house (around 100' just to get upstairs), or playing hockey in the driveway. I used to have a workout routine I did daily, and at one point looked absurdly muscular for my size, but that's kind of gone by the wayside.

I fill my hours with writing, and that suits me just fine.

I hear ya there, before I moved back home to Albany, I was hovering at 160 lbs. Mainly since I couldn't afford 3 meals and I couldn't work out as hard. Now I'm up to 170 and feeling good. I'd like to get to 175...healthywise of course

I've put on about 20 pounds in the last year, up to 230. I'm 6'2" , so that's not too bad. I think I'd just like to shift things around a bit. :)

I actually have a question for you Beth,

Do you guys have a DVD burner in 420? I have those Tony Horton 10 min trainer videos I'm always talking about, and I wanna make copies for a friend, but I dont have a DVD burner here. If you guys would let me use a burner, I'd buy the DVDs, and a few extra so you guys could have a copy too. If you're interested, if not, I'll just go buy a burner.

I think I brought my DVD burner with me back to school. I'll have to search around for it, but I think it's here somewhere.

Squanto, get into that nice pool of yours. ;)

I'm 5'8 and 220. When I was in high school I did sports year round (football, wrestling, weight lifting), but immediately after graduating I really let myself go. For about a year I was really overweight getting up to 230. Then my job decided to partner up with Weight Watchers, so I decided to join. It worked really well for me. I did it for about 2 months.

They have a really good way of teaching you how proportion your food, and in addition to running 2 miles on a nightly basis I lost nearly 40 lbs, 4 pants sizes, and felt great. Then for a few reasons such as school and other obligations, I stopped going to the meetings and regressed to my old ways of eating unhealthy food and not exercising. Since then I'm up to 220 where I am now. I don't have such a high BMI like I did as before, but I certainly have bulked up quite a bit from where I was during WW.

I recently have started working out again though. My school has a gym and I've been going for the past week to get back in shape. Right now I'm doing 4 reps of run for 10 minutes, then walk for 5. It's working really well and I am already starting to feel healthier. My ideal goal is to be down to 160 by the end of this semester in May. I feel that could be pretty realistic if I continue to eat healthy and work out on a regular basis.

I don't know about the area of Orlando you live in Zilla, but in Kissimmee all the lakes and retention ponds are filthy and probably toxic to swim in.
