Fuck all the working out and dieting. Just smoke and you'll lose the weight.

I believe it. My dad eats more than most people I know and smokes about a pack a day. He's been a constant 180 for the past 30 years and doesn't exercise at all.

It doesn't bother me, but I think you are in the majority. I'm amazed at the number of people here in Florida who have never been in a lake. I grew up swimming in lakes and quarries in WNY.

I don't know about the area of Orlando you live in Zilla, but in Kissimmee all the lakes and retention ponds are filthy and probably toxic to swim in.

I live downtown on a tiny lake called Cay-Dee (it would be nothing more than a big pond up north). We get yearly water quality reports and it is consistently rated as one of the cleanest lakes in Orlando.

Lots of great Florida wildlife - Green Herons, Great Blue Herons, Anhingas, Egrets, Ibis, Soft-nosed turtles, Snapping turtles, Water Mocassins, lots of frogs - but, no 'gators (I keep threatening to release some into our lake, but my wife is having none of it).

It is kind of a personal mission of mine to replant the shoreline with native plants, although most of my neighbors are under the impression that they can have a white sandy beach (which just kills a lake and is not possible, anyway, in Florida - weeds are too invasive).

That sounds beautiful Zilla. Reminds me of the ponds at the nature preserve I volunteered at in Poinciana.

The retention pond behind my house is the complete opposite. It was full of garbage because everyone thinks the drains that lead to it that are on the road are trash cans. If you walked around the pond you'd have seen old cans and snack wrappers all along the shore and a lot of algal growth. Over the past few weeks while I was down there for break they were cleaning it out. It took them 2 weeks to get it fully cleansed out, if that tells you how dirty it was.

Good lord, I am far removed from my old marathon DDR session shape. Winded and sweaty after five songs all on difficult. Shit.

I'm going to eventually start trying to bulk up. I'm around 6'1 at 150 pounds, so I think if I could tone up and gain around 30 pounds I'd be a good weight and size.

I want to start to play ice hockey also so being a bit bigger would help alot. But my dad has 5-75lb dumb bells and he has a pullup machine and he put tow straps from the ceiling with handles to do those push ups.

My friend Aimee works over there, she keeps telling me it's got really good cardio equipment, is that true?

My reason for working out is simply that I'm sick of not being able to look hot in size 36 jeans anymore. I wear a 40 waist now, my gut hangs over pretty good, I've got mini-moobs, and the stretch marks at my hips are horrible. I used to not think about it because when I sit back and recall how I got fat, there are a lot of amazing memories featuring friends, noms, hockey, and laughter. But it's time to stop being indifferent to it and kick it's ass.

They do have really nice cardio equipment. I really like their ellipticals. They have TVs on them, too, and while I do not really care for basketball very much, I'll turn something like that on and continue listening to music. At least keeps distracted as the time winds down on my workout.

I forgot to mention this...

A friend of mine (aka very attractive female that I was willing to make any excuse to see) suggested I try hot yoga. I've been going for a few weeks now (twice without her!) and it's actually pretty good.

Hot yoga is just regular yoga but in sauna like conditions, with no talking or noise in the studio. It's a workout practically and you feel incredible afterwards. Guys out there who judge and claim its for "fags" need to realize that its just 2-3 guys in a room of 30 girls wearing tight skimpy clothes doing awkward positions. It's a good time.

Just got back from my workout. I weighed in at 119.5 lb. before hitting the gym. Making progress?
