It's kind of awkward when someone without any sense of rhythm tries to play the guitar without drums to guide him. Yeah.

I got an e-mail that says thiiiis:
Quote:
- We will be leaving May 8 (after graduation) and hopefully, we will arrive in time to join in the celebration of Victory Day (May 9) - one of Russia most cherished holidays.
- We will be staying with Russian families while in Moscow for the first week, during which time we will spend time working with youth, and we will spend several days sightseeing in and near Moscow (Red Square, the Kremlin, the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow Circus, Moscow Zoo, Moscow University, the Metro, etc.)
- Next, we will travel by train to Alexandrov & Karabanova to work primarily with youth but also some light manual labor in the community. This will give you a better sense of what life in Russia is really like for the majority of the people.
- Then, we will take another train to St. Petersburg for two full days of sightseeing in one of Europe's most beautiful cities (known as 'Venice of the North') - 2 days is not enough time to see everything, but we will at least get to see the Winter Palace, the Hermitage, and Peterhof.
- We will then return to Moscow for a few more days of sightseeing, rest, and some Russian cultural activities (like hanging out at the river, eating sashlii and drinking kvas).
- Finally, we return home on/around May 24.

Excited.

This week has been surreal with the late games. Between that and napping, I thoroughly nuked any semblance of a sleep schedule.

If the fire alarm in my dorm goes off one more time, I'm going to kill someone.

Went off yesterday at 5:30 in the afternoon. Yeah, during dinner, and downstairs is the cafeteria. Why did it go off? Technical malfunction. No reason.

Same thing today at 8:30 in the morning. i was going to sleep in till 10:00. Nooooope.

Well. At least yesterday I had a nice snowball fight while waiting to go back inside, and this morning I entertained the masses with my bright green coat over bright blue bathrobe over red plaid pajama pants, while wearing sparkly silver flats that are covered in oversized glitter/small sequins/whateverIdon'teven knowbutI'vehadthemforyearsandthey'reawesome.

Of course, neither of these count as a fire drill. We're still going to have one of those at 2:30 in the morning some night.

Well, now that I finally have a record player, I guess it's time to get some records! A couple of Baroness here, some Mastodon there, a bit of Giant Squid around the corner, vintage Metallica up ahead...gotta get started!

I Love SRV, I also glad my tickets came for both the road crew and the game today.

Hmmmm... what to get the boy for Valentine's Day? I have been thinking about it quite a bit, but I'm pretty stumped.

I'm in a similar quandry regarding the girl, but I've got added pressure cuz it's our one year anniversary too :|

I don't even have to click on that to take a solid guess at what it is.

I just bought a record for $70...I'm either an idiot, or a music junkie.

So we're taking kids orphaned in the Haiti earthquake into the US for medical treatment... I can't even imagine that. Cannot think of many things, if any at all, more traumatic than losing both mother and father in one fell swoop and then being uprooted to another nation, as a child.

Bada bing, orphaned overnight and then not only is your entire life different as it usually is when that happens, but it's transplanted to a foreign country. Everything you've ever known, officially over, especially since the intent is for most of those kids to eventually be adopted by US citizens. So freaking traumatic. :(

I can't think about anything too much or I get ridiculously frustrated by the inability to do anything but sit around and read it. That's in general, not just pertaining to this.

Got registered for my credit-bearing internship today! :D

Pretty exciting to be moving forward. Now I'm at 20 credit hours. I think I must be crazy.

Tomorrow morning I do my training for VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and then I will probably volunteer a couple Saturdays and do prepare income tax returns for those with low incomes. I'm pretty excited about this because not only am I learning about an important part of my profession, but this looks amazing on resumes. YAY!
