Championship teams never rest on their laurels; they are always looking to improve. Are we a good team? Look at the standings so far. Could we be better? Certainly could in my eyes.

Should The Sabres make changes just for change sake? No, I wouldn't see any reason to do that.

Should they make player moves if they are convinced it makes them a better team? Hell yes they should. This is one of those years where there are a number of teams that can possibly win the cup; we are one of those teams.

I think that goes without saying. I mean, duh.

"Hey, guys! I think we're good enough to win the Cup this year. Uh, but we were just offered Pronger for Paetsch. I don't think we need to look into ways to dump salary to make this deal. We're good enough."

Of course, no trade idea will be so one-sided, but the principle remains the same. It doesn't matter how good your team is. Every GM will constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve.

Teams that are going to be bad in the future, are always looking to improve today..

Every championship team goes through cyclical rebuilds, the bottom line is, you want the Stanley Cup you'll make the moves necessary to achieve success. Detroit, Montreal and Pittsburg are prime examples of this.

Keeping the status quo in an effort to "roll the dice" on the current talent isn't really attempting to achieve maximum success.

Adam, he's right in a lot of ways. Up until recently, the Sabres were a team with an absolutely amazing goaltender, a bottom six that had to outperform a top six, and a rookie and scapegoat having to outperform the other two pairs.

I use up until recently because Montador has become much more solid, the Red Hot Chili Peppers line is fucking white hot, and they're winning games or making it to OT on the offense and not just Miller.

Please excuse my naivety, but who is the Red Hot Chili Peppers line?

If Miller and Myers were playing like they did last year, we'd probably be over 500 right now.

If I had decided to jerk off instead, I probably wouldn't be paying child support...

Hecht-Connolly-Pominville

I came up with the name myself, and I'm probably the only person who's gonna use it
