One of the things with Vanek is that teams are doing all they can to take away his deflection move. Watching in person, when we have the puck down low along the glove side, the glove side PKer just about lays on the ice to take away from the pass.

Vanek should just attempt to no look behind the back pass it every play.

Seems to work on western ice.

He used to slide around a little down low. tried to find a soft area. Now he parks it out front every time. No idea if that's his idea or the coaches. Anyways, I don't like it. I want him in space down low if it's available, cuz he's not dumb with the puck. This deflecting the point shot is becoming beyond obsessive, and he's clearly not getting the rebound goals either.
