Because Hecht's counterpart on defense should have a thread of his own, too...

I find this thread relevant to my interests.

This schlub is taking up Myers' roster spot. Give it up, you big puss - you've talked big but aren't delivering, so let the teenaged wonder take his place on the team. Hell, Lydman was looking great again, with no help from you. Piss off, and go play somewhere else.

he is not only taking myers spot, but he is keeping weber and gragnani from coming up to the big club. gagnani is the closest thing we have to a puck moving offensive defenseman, (myers maybe, butler maybe, sekera supposed to be that guy). And why did they say that montador would not play the point on the powerplay the guy pretty much lead the shot department, i thought it was like 6 shots one period, and four on the powerplay.

Myers is a puck-moving defenseman. Have you watched him skate out of the zone with the puck and laser a pass through traffic to a teammate breaking up ice? Offensive breakout is just another one of his many talents.

If Tallinder somehow did get cut, I'd rather see Gragnani than Weber make the team. His skill set fills a gap in our lineup more than Weber's does right now.

I'm sure he's a nice guy but he should stick to soccer.

Yea except for the supposed rape. Well not going to go into that...

I would much rather see Weber or Myers in his spot.

Hell, if we're going to lose games, i'd rather even gragnani learn from it than pay this schmuck for nothing.

I think I'd take Gragnani over Sekera, but (with the exclusion of Butler and Rivet) there isn't anyone I'd take over Myers. Unless he REEEEEALLY fucks the pooch, he's got a shot at a rare gig - teenaged star defenseman.

Someone on the "Official" Sabres board a little while back that Hank and I look allike. To bad he couldn't play D like me. lol Then for damn SURE he wouldn't be on the team! :P

Ah his contract needs to be pushed out. He hasn't been the same since...god knows when. Maybe since he got the big money? We see the same sweater out there, but it hasn't been the same player.

Too bad Hank. you coulda been something.

He hasn't looked good since he broke his arm against Carolina, was it? ECF '06? Sounds about right.

The thing about Tallinder is, I think a lot of regular Ahlers or even college kids could do his job better, but because he has a contract, he plays.

It hurts.

I think you're right Phil.

I remember some early games in 06-07 when RJ was commenting on how he was showing signs of returning to form but it really has been just him taking up space on the roster since.

The one thing he does really well, oddly enough, is defend against Alex Ovechkin.

My sarcasm detection doesn't seem to be working today.

Guessing that's a joke...

In the last season and a half, he covered Ovie really, really well. About the only defenseman on the Sabres who could keep up with him.

...aaand that's about the only thing he didn't do wrong, sadly enough.

i dont think so. i think tallinder, for a 3rd pairing, would be fine. hes alot better then alot of regular defensemen. but, seeing what he was several years ago, compared to what his now, is very disheartening. also, because of his salary, hes expected to be much better then he is. im not defending him, hes certainly lost alot. but, again. its time for him to move on.

OK, so OV makes everyone look stupid sometimes, but I've personally noticed he looks better than most other times when he's covering him.

Our worst-looking defenseman at covering anyone? Sekera. Blech.

To sum up all of what I've said, Tallinder does one thing pretty well, whereas Myers does a lot better than pretty well, and he's making much less money.
