Am not usually like this, sharing lulz where the lulz come from laughing at people in circumstances like this, but in this particular instance, I can't help it.

One more thing pointless to argue about because it doesn't matter what is said (knew that before I said a word, though)... People will still keep their opinions and reply without actually saying or refuting a thing.

Well put, Jael. A well-thought out argument and rebuttal (even though they did not get it).

You are a poised, intelligent and well-read individual who puts a lot of thought into her posts. I may not always have the same POV, but have to respect a well-thought out position on a topic.

Good for you Jael, whoever those guys were are ignorant to think America has it bad off and Haiti has anything good.

The only good parts are the tourist areas, and then even so it's not much. But America has it way better than Haiti, and those who do not see it, should not be in this country living, go help them out, or live a week in one of their shoes, I know they would be glad to live a day in yours.

People just don't realize how hard it would really be to just live a day in the shoes of the less fortunate, you do that, then you start to complain, because you won't.

Yeah, well apparently I'm slightly well-known on my college campus for that now.

Although the kid I was posting at was someone who lives in WNY, he's friends on Facebook with a girl who's friends with a kid here. She posted the link to his status on her Facebook, and he proceeded to post it again on his. He also showed it to a bunch of different people in person, until finally he showed it to one of my friends who was like, "UM SHE GOES HERE."

It's amazing how connected everybody is. The kid in question, who goes to my school, is from Illinois. We're in Indiana right now.

I smell hot sauce (in the study quad...) and it's making me crave some chicken wings.

I'm in com 101 right now, wanna come take notes for me?

lol I might even still have notes from when I took COM 101 first semester, and I'm sure most of it would still be relevant. That class is wonderful though. I thought it was really interesting, and Reynolds is a pretty good professor. I've been wanting to take another class of his, but they all fill up so fast. :( If you (or Melanieeee <3 <3) ever need help with that class though, I gotchya covered. I know my shit yo.

Oh, and Jael, I like how the kid tries to correct you on the quotation thing... I love it when people try to correct me on something, and they are totally off base. It's hilarious.

I love when they have men from the prison that offers degree programs via my college come here to speak. Everybody cried this time around. He got out a few months ago for killing three people and seriously injuring two others drinking and driving when he was eighteen, driving through a stop sign at sixty mph because he didn't see it. One of the people he killed was a twelve-year-old boy, and the other two were eighteen-year-old parents of a baby girl that was a few months old at the time. She was in the car and one of the two that survived. This was in June 1998. Three years ago, when she was eight, she and her grandmother, who has raised her, visited him in prison, and as soon as she saw him, she ran up to him and hugged him and told her that she forgived him and loved him. The man who was speaking cried as he related the story to us, which made almost everyone in attendance in cry. It is always really impactful when people like him come to speak.

I cannot imagine that guilt, for one decision when he was an eighteen-year-old kid that millions of other kids make because they don't feel drunk.

No, I have no idea. I've never even talked to the kid before.

Yes, it is. I was like, "Um." Could have ripped into his grammar, but that would have been rude and waaay OT, and I wanted to keep responding to any red herrings to a minimum.

It was moved a few miles to a safe location right?

I remember hearing the mines were starting to become too dangerous for a town to be above, and a few people did stay.

nothing was moved, it was all razed. 7 people still live there, but everything else is gone. the coal mines beneath centralia caught fire, and the land opens up because of it, and toxic smoke seeps through the ground.

yeah, jael, thats exactly correct. wikipedia nerd too?!

old, abandoned places and man made structures really interest me. like the abandoned pennsylvania turnpike. thats an interesting read.

Yes.

I recently went on an abandoned structure/ghost town spree, not even two weeks ago.

learning guitar is fun cause you can say i need to go practice my fingering and you may get a few weird looks but your fingers have to move quickly across the fret board, and developing a callous is a must, cause one must push hard on the strings.

And if your guitar has a name, especially a girls name you can go say, I'm about to go finger Brittany for a few hours.

Haha, except my guitar doesn't have a name, and really the longer you play you start to realize you don't have to push the strings down as far as you first thought you did when you first started playing.
