The only big deal really is Apple fans have been waiting 10 years for the damn thing.

It basically Is... I think the main point is that this is what will replace computers... a Pad that you can carry around. Not to big. Not to small. Everything right at your fingertips. Idk... it seems cool. Id like to get one... but I have a ipod touch. so its not worth it.

Pretty much this. Seems like they're going for a 'netbook that doesn't suck' angle with it, I dunno.

I do think they nailed the price point on it though.

I heard an interesting observation about the difference between Microsoft and Apple. Microsoft steals other people's successes and makes money off of them, whereas Apple steals other people's failures and makes money off of them.

Nobody has succeeded yet in creating a real demand for a notebook, but if anybody is going to do it, my money would be on Steve Jobs.

Really?
My MacBook pro is solid as hell.
I've got a MacPro tower at my office that's also one of the best built desktops I've ever owned.

I think irony means granny smiths vs. washington and whether to dip in chocolate or caramel...

Apple is solid, it's just not my cup of tea.

I was never an Apple guy. My iPhone started my down the path, and then I picked up a MacBook, and I just love it. Very solid, no problems at all. Waiting for them to fix the screen problems on the iMacs before I buy one of them.

I still use Windows and Debian stuff, but I'm sipping the Apple Koolaid. :)

Hey man...it's BSD...nothing to be ashamed about.

It's the finest GUI Unix has ever seen ;)
