I think they're already sold out of adult sizes. I e-mailed them asking if/when they plan on re-stocking them.

I actually like that he's wearing #39, reminds me of his college days.

Tim Thomas has seniority over Miller I guess. What's unfair about it and why doesn't it make sense? It's just a number. Plus, I think Miller prefers 39 over 30, it was his number in college. I just don't think he wanted to feel like he was upstaging Hasek by wearing 39 once he joined the Sabres organization.

cant really say im a fan of the mask. it looks too corny to be taken seriously. i think something along the lines of DiPietros old mask with the shit ton of stars would have been great.

Well Thomas did get the nod at last Olympics so he gets first choice of numbers.

It's the same if you've worn a number all your life and get traded to a different team but someone already has that number, you either change or the other guy is gracious enough to let you have you number, or you do the Bourque thing and switch it to 77 instead of 7.

Or what Gretzky did, someone already had 9 on the team, so he added another 9 to it.

who knows, miller might have had first choice for numbers, and chose 39 over his sabres 30

That didn't work out so well, did it? Bill Goldsworthy I mean...he had #9. Gretzky's rookie year was his last.

Maybe he chose 30 as a Sabre because Hasek wore 39...

Was Tim Thomas even a full timer in the NHL in the 2005-06 season.
Also it was Gordie Howe who told Gretzky to add a second 9.

Precisely, 39 was is he favorite number and thus why he wore it in college. Due to Dom Hasek wearing 39 he wasn't allowed so he decided to go with #30 but whenever he gets the chance he puts 39 on his back

I love the Matt Man. And the second side is better than the first side.

I think all goalie helmets look like they could be on the side of a van. Except Brodeur's.

The back plate is the same as the one he wore for the tail end of the season last year, ain't it?

I too like the, "Don't tread on me". I have the hankering now to drum some /MetallicA\

Well it's not that he wasn't allowed, the number isn't retired or anything, he just chose not to use it.

I see it as a sign of respect to Hasek's sterling career as a Sabre.
