Says it in the title...check Darren Dreger's Twitter for information, as no link is available yet on TSN.

Edit: Edited title...again

Poor Flames fans...sure they get either Higgins or Gilroy, but he comes with the added baggage that is Kotalik.

If I were a Flames fan I would be fuming about now. There team is being restuctured, but the good thing for them is they have lots of parts now to build out of :D

Dreger tweeting Gilroy is not involved, so I'll edit my title.

I can't wait for TDD...my OpenBeak (BBerry Twitter app) is gonna explode! :D

Have you taken a look at the professional contracts and roster availability and contract situations the Flames now have?

This could be a play for Kovalchuck, the Flames have to dump some of these contracts. This isn't done yet I don't think.

Buffalo can get in on some of this.
I like whats left in Toronto (Kaberle :D )
But if Calgary is looking to move some, which forward would you prefer? And remember, you have quite alot to choose from now ;)

LOL!!!! Good God, just when you think nobody on this planet could come up with a dumber trade, SMACK, Glenn Sather appears out of the subway.

so now the rangers have;

Sean Avery, and Jokinen on the same roster, two of the biggest locker room disruptions in the league, and in return the Flames get Alice, and Higgins. Higgins won't succeed in Calgary, they lack a good playmaker to play with him.

I'm just absolutely loving today, it's a pissing contest of who can shit on their team the hardest.

So far, Glenn Sather takes the lead, but depending on what Sutter does next, it's going to get very interesting.

HAHAHAHAHA

I feel like I should feel bad for Flames fans, but I don't care. Hockey fans can't afford not to be sadists.

No way...Sutter takes it by a mile. Ships out Phaneuf and Aulie first, then brings in Kotalik later in the day. Epic fail.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist... ;p)

Well, Burke did say this was bigger than what TOR and CGY were doing, but what is Sutter up to? He is not going to keep all of these players, something is definitely up here.

Here's my opinion on Calgary though, they got a much needed puck moving D man in Ian White, added about 90 points per year in Stajan and Hagman, and added some nice grit in Mayers, then moved out a locker room distraction in Jokinen, and added Higgins, who was in desperate need of a change of scenery, and also added Kotalik, a much needed power play specialist on that team.

I honestly think this series of trades could favor the Flames if the guys gel together right, and form some solid lines. Plus if they've moved enough cap to get Kovalchuk, then it would look brilliant.

Sather essentially just added more distraction, and another underachiever in Prust.

ONLY if they manage to snag Kovalchuk will the scales tip in Calgary's favor, IMO.

I'm just enjoying sitting back and watching this clusterfuck go down all over the continent haha

I heard this hasn't gone down yet. Is it fo reals? If so, then Calgary is ridiculously stupid. Just trade Jokinen for Higgins straight up. Why would they want Kotalik?

Most likely the only way Slather would do it. If you can believe Slather would be sly enough to move Kotalik.

Kotalik demanded a trade weeks ago...I saw him leaving, but I didn't see this.

Any chance of Stafford or MacArthur getting in on this?
