I like it. Look at Guerin in Pittsburgh. He's a pain in the ass.

I see Ray Whitney coming to the Sabres and getting a fire lit under his ass.

I don't see this happening. Whitney is going to be coveted by many teams and Darcy isn't going to give up a whole lot with a UFA thats 37 years old.

Now Cullen might be someone from Carolina thats on Darcy's radar, but it's more than likely going to be a western conference team.

Cullen would be a good addition, but we need a winger more than we need another centerman.

I could see Regier trading for Whitney if the asking price was in the same ballpark as what he gave up to rent Zubrus.

If this is correct, Whitney (who turns 38yo in May) wants a 3 year extension to waive his NTC.

Can't see the Sabres doing that.

This team needs a big body for the playoffs. Cullen is a decent player and so is Whitney but Regier is going to offer much to get either one of those guys. And in the long haul of the Stanley Cup playoffs you going to want guys that can take the full grind.

If your going to trade a first round pick you might as well trade for a guy that is under contract or you know you can sign. I'm not a big fan of throwing away draft picks when you have a GM that rely's on the draft to building your team. If Darcy had a different approach to how he manages I would say go for it but this team lacks any really good offensive prospects besides Ennis and Adam. Kassian who knows what he can do at the next level as this year in junior he has been hit with injuries and a suspension.

Whitney isn't coming to Buffalo, He wants a 3 year contract extension. No way Darcy gives a guy that age that contract.
On to the next.

I'd offer a 2 yr, but that would be pushing it. It's not as if he's putting up 40 goals/yr right now anyway. He needs to think within reason. As stated, he's turning 38 this may. Then again, he likely wants to go to a cup contending team like the Pens, have a shot at it all and if things fall into place, retire at seasons end.

No way I'd offer a 3 year deal though.

But he is almost a PPG this year on a crappy Carolina team. If I recall he is second only to Eric Staal in points on that team.

Ya, I'll give him a 3 year deal, at 1 million each.

If this ass clown thinks anyone is going to give CAR a solid player, then give him 12? million over 3 years, he's been doing battery acid. Dose tires is looking pretty bald mista witnay. Rod the bod is an exception. Just cuz he's your teammate don't mean your him.

Piss off Ray!
