Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers, who led all rookies in average ice time per game (24:42) and ranked third in scoring with 10 points (four goals, six assists), has been named the NHL Rookie of the Month for January.

Atta boy Tyler...

The Calder trophy will look nice in his arm, right next to the Norris he'll be cradling on the other shoulder.

Alright Myers, bring home every trophy you can to Buffalo.

I can't wait until we sign him to that long term contract.

Just musing away in my little fantasy world, but...

How about Myers taking the Calder, Norris, Hart, Conn Smythe and Stanley Cup trophies.

To me, this award isn't really for January, in which Myers was no better than he was any other month (maybe worse), but it serves as a league-wide recognition of what he's been doing all season. It's all been under the spotlight in the last month especially, with the Sabres going on a long road trip. Every single game the sabres play now, the opposition's media will do at least a little piece on Myers. I think all this media recognition is finally sticking to him in the form of this rookie of the month.

Tyler Myers - Future captain of the Buffalo Sabres, and future Norris Trophy Winner

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

Ahhhh, the classic Cujo. "Well uhhhhmmmmmm"

Can't be any worse than Phaneuf's interviews as of late. You could ask him a question about something completely nonhockey related and his response would be, "Well uh, I'm just happy to be here and I'm excited to be a part of the Toronto Make Beliefs". I swear that is all he's been saying since the trade.

:angry-banghead:
