it's one game they won. it's like when bernier was traded he had that amazing game then unheard of. we knew giggy was better than toskala. we will continue to see if the guys traded can perform.

however, torontos greatest weakness, in goal, is now a strength. giguere and monster is a great tandem.

Giguere is a proven winner. Without him, the Ducks don't get out of the first round in 2003, let alone to game seven of the Cup finals. It's unlikely they would have won without him in 2007 either. He's the real deal, and after being reunited with the man who made him, Francois Allaire, Giguere is more likely than not on his way back to top form.

Just one freaking game yes but you've to look at the long picture here. Laffs were miles and miles away and now they're a lot closer. Phaneuf IS an elite D-man (just wait till his confidence will be back soon), Giguere a proven winner.

Hopefully soon GM's will realize that burke is a fucking pussy and refuse to do ANY deals with him. Seriously I would hang up immediately. If this bullshit continues Laffs will be a po contender soon.

Screw "Mr. Truculence" and his pussy behaviour god I hate this GM

Obviously the Laffs got better. I mean, how could they get any worse?

At this point in the season, I don't see them making the playoffs, more-so being spoilers. They will have a team coming down the stretch run that if you need 2 pts to finish higher in your division or to just squeak into the playoff mix, they're more than capable now to take those points away. Adding Phaneuf is a huge upgrade in terms of size/physical play than what they had, but beating bodies all over the ice means nothing if you can't put pucks in the net. Yes, Adding Giggie is a major improvement in goal but they won't be playing him for every game the rest of the way through. This team can still be beat and the NJ game last night was a hiccup. In short, I'm not worried about that bitch Burke or his Make Beliefs.

I know one thing; I'm tired of every fucking Laff fan now calling for the Stanley Cup because they got two players. They need to understand first, in order to win the Cup, you need to make the playoffs. To make the playoffs, you have to have a winning team. Sure they're getting close but in most cases, close just isn’t enough.

Go practice your golf swings now, Laff fans.

They mentioned the record Toronto would have to pull off to reach the playoffs, on Leafs Lunch. I don't remember what it was; but even an elite level team would have to play insanely well for the rest of the season to make it happen.

At least if they can finish out of the bottom 5 it will ease the pain of having no first rounder this season.

Even with Phaneuf and Giguire, I don't see them as a good team at all.

The Leafs Fairy is always happy, even if it's just to be around all those "Gorgeous Manses" that wear The Leafs Jerseys......

I'll have to admit, Burke's strategy follows what would be my strategy. Get a franchise defensemen and a strong goalie as cornerstones. Forwards are far less important to winning, IMO. Flair forwards DO put asses in seats, but Toronto has no trouble filling the stands. If he can add Kovalchuk, then my hat is unfortunately off to him.

Phaneuf can make players around him better just from his style of play, and Giggy probably has some left in the tank. I'm sure the limited time from Hiller's excellent play has affected him, but a lot of starts might bring him back to snuff.

I will not judge the trade unless they play a good offensive team, NJ looked like absolute shit last night.
